its invention was that of an industrial solvent i believe

I understand that is what it was marketed as, but it was marketed to be used as a drug. i am unsure if it has a cleaning properties. any info would be appreciated.

i've seen it in sealed 5 gallon cans from chemical companies, but i guess you can do whatever you want to with it.
