Busted for GBL?

I was at a club last night and this guy i knew was pulled aside by a undercover cop and searched for drugs. The only thing he had on himself was a bottle of gbl(Gamma-Butryrolactone). They took him and said they were going to test it for ghb. What do you think will happen next since this is not ghb?

depends on the laws in your state, some states have made gbl illegal and some havnt. i know a couple people back home doing 5 years for small amounts of ghb.
