Burning fat without losing muscle

Hiit and hirt

Lifting heavy and not cutting calories too drastically.. lifting heavy is extremly important in keeping the muscle mass while dieting, dont do high reps in hopes of burning fat what you'll burn is muscle, also keep carbs and calories as high as possible while in a deficit and slowly losing weight, the trick is not go to extreme, extremes never work.

This lifting heavy is key and sound advice. It's the way to build hard thick muscle fibers.

What's the trick?

IMHO, there is no 'trick' in bodybuilding, dieting, training or life for that matter. It's about working hard and dedicating yourself to your goals.

If you are keen on the best diet to get lean while gaining muscle mass (not just keeping yourself from losing it) - try bodyopus or evolutionary. They both utilize the concept of ketosis and supercompensation to help you burn fat while keeping muscle loss at bay - ketones are protein sparing. In addition, the supercompensation will help you gain muscle mass. You'll actually be losing bodyfat and gaining muscle mass all in the same week. :)

Eating smaller meals every two to three hours keeps your metabolism revved and burning fat all day long. Engage in aerobic activities like swimming, cycling, stair climbing, jogging and walking help increase heart rate and your fat burning engine. Lift weights and perform resistance training exercises to increase lean muscle tissue. Strength training exercises burn calories, and as you build muscle, you'll increase your body's metabolism even at rest.
