Bullies, Brownnosers, and the rest of us

This is a long one, requiring thought. Hang on.

Last night Division wrote the following to me:

"When you've got more time on the forum I might actually give a fuck what you think."

Yes, I am new here. And as a "newbie," I can look on this whole scene still as an objective outside observer.

What I see so far is there are those like Division. They "know it all" (notice the quotation marks [for Instant.Muscle who has problems understanding grammar rules, that means that THEY believe it to be the case, but reality tells a different story]), they're huge, pumped up. Because they surely were bullies in school (before they dropped out), they try to be bullies on this site because that's all they know how to do. They were always the biggest kids in school, physically, not mentally. They were usually big because they were 2-3 years older than the rest of us since they got held back a few times. They were so “cool,” trashing and pounding all the nerds in school, but now they have a hard time with reality. They never developed mental strength. They were physically strong bullies in school, but once out of school they usually go no where in life (not always, as I will elaborate in a moment (Instant.Muscle, elaborate means explain)). What good is physical strength without mental strength in the real world? They feel left behind. They long for their Jr. high and high school days when they were still cool jocks.... Ahhhhh, the memories... When the girls would go goo-goo for them, nerds would flee from their paths and hide under the nearest bush. They were rebels, grades didn't matter--why should they matter? They were too cool for that.

But then after everyone (well, ALMOST everyone, right Division?) graduated and people went their separate ways, guys like Division realized that sports and drugs didn't take him anywhere, and now he's flipping burgers at Micky-D's, or loading boxes in some warehouse.... All the uncool guys from school that used to get beat up on by him are now going to college and graduate school... Actually becoming something more than huge, pumped up, now not-so-cool, burger flippers.

While all this is happening, there are the other guys. You all remember them. There were those guys in school like Instant.Muscle.... You know, guys that were really borderline nerds. They really weren't huge, pumped up dope-heads. They weren’t cool, but they weren’t dorks either. They didn't really get all the chicks, but they sure knew how to brown nose their biggest threats. Like in this message from last night (you can follow the entire thread, it’s entitled “Air Injections?”). Instant.Muscle asked something along the lines of what happens if you inject air into your muscle? Then that he wanted to know in case he injected air into someone’s neck. OBVIOUSLY a joke. Then Division said his words of wisdom:

“After reading your post I feel like beating you with a blunt metal object until all that is left of you is a bloody stump of throbbing flesh.”

Then me, being the guy that never worried about the bully and usually concerned about others, defended Instant.Muscle by saying:

“Most normal people with an IQ of, say 50 or more, knew that was a joke. Take that blunt object and beat a couple IQ points into your head.... It certainly won't make your mental situation worse. It's worth a try.”

So, the brown noser, just like the old school days, instead of thanking me for defending him, turns around and stabs me in the back. I don’t care one iota, but I think it’s an interest fact of life. A lot of people don’t change. A brownnoser’s a brownnoser, period.

Division just basically told him he was going to beat him up after school over by the flag pole, and what does Mr. Brown nose do? Sticks his nose right up his crack.... Come on, get it right up there and rub it back and forth a bit… Good. Oh yeah, nice and brown, just the way he likes it...

He doesn’t want to get pounded on, you see?

These are the guys that are now working in some cubicle somewhere. They are in charge of no one. They are yes-men. They know one thing well, and that is brown nosing. "Yes, sir." "You sure look nice in that tie today, sir." "You are the smartest man I know, sir." "How did you become so wise, sir?"

They will never climb more than the second or third step on the 100-step ladder of life. They will never be in charge of anything important. They will never own their own business or be anyone's boss. They are the ones that are completely satisfied with a $60,000 a year goal, and see that as some huge achievement when finally obtained. They never took risks, never stood up to Division, because they knew he would smash their teeth in. They stand for everything, and stand for nothing--depends on who's asking them. Just don't rock the boat. They take no risks, face no big challenges. A left-wing wacko when among democrats, an ultra conservative when around republicans.

You all know them well.

Then there's people like the other 90% of you. I've asked a couple questions on these boards and got some incredibly great answers! Thank you all for those. Thanks for the your insight and advise. Guys like Radar, Mrplunky and many others.

Am I wrong, or is that what this site is for? Questions and answers? Learning and discovering? There are those that know more, and there are those that know next to nothing—yes, just like me. That's the great thing about this web site.

If all the teachers in the world decided to be like Division, who I’ll be the first to acknowledge knows an awful lot about steroids, and said, “those kids are a bunch of retards, I’m not going to teach them anything because they are so stupid,” then we would end up with a world of very stupid people, since eventually the smart teachers would all die out, and we’d be left with a bunch of ignorant people, teaching no one anything.

If you don’t like newbie questions, Division, then why don’t you stay on the Platinum boards? Or, here’s a better idea, why don’t you do something productive like create your own board entitled, “For experienced juicers only,” or “hardcore talk for only the most hardcore” or “Only bullies allowed” or something like that? Then you wouldn’t have to waste your precious time away from McDonald’s listening to stupid, geeky newbie’s like me? I know that after 8 hours a day flipping burgers, frying onion rings, and saying “yes,” all day to customer can really be tiring. After a long day like that you want to unwind with your buds and not be bothered by stupid novices. Well, now we have found the solution!!! (All in favor, please say, “I.”)

But you won’t do that will you? You like to bully too much. You crave the attention.

Have you all noticed that? The bullies never seemed satisfied just hanging around their other drop-out friends and leaving it at that. They always had to mess with others to feel self-secure.

So now Division can’t bully anyone at school, so he resorts to doing it on the internet. What a big boy!

But it isn't quite the same, is it Division? Not quite the same satisfaction. The girls don’t say, “wow!” And nobody really seems to care.

Once out of school, mental strength becomes king, and physical strength takes a back seat. Warren Buffet, Donald Trump, oh yes, and the geek that people like Division beat up on in school, Bill Gates, all have that mental strength I’m talking about. All of these guys are now laughing at the Divisions of the world. They had their12 years of fame, but now the rest of life is to be enjoyed by the mentally strong—big houses, Mercedes, international vacations…. All the meanwhile Division’s daily routine is Home—McDonnald’s—Gym. No Hawaii, no Cancun, just Home, McDonnald’s, gym…. No wonder his anger and aggravation!!!

So the way I see this, as an outsider, is there are three types of people here:

1. Divisions, a.k.a. the bullies
2. Instant.Muslcles, a.k.a. the brown nosers
3. The rest normal people willing to share and learn together.

I know I'm painting with an overly broad brush, and there are more than just these three categories in life. There are thousands and thousands. But as an outsider just looking in on this whole scene, this is my observation.

Okay, so enough of playing Dr. Laura, or Dr. Phil. Let’s get to some practical suggestions.

If the Divisions of this site hate newbie questions so much, then let’s do the following: Why don’t you make an FAQ section that actually has all these questions that bother you all so much. Instead of saying, “read the threads, you f’n retard!” you could point him to the FAQs. FAQ, for Instant.Muscle, means frequently asked questions. You could be proud of the work you all do to compile it. By the way, have you ever tried to navigate though the thread search? It’s not like you can instantly find the simple answers to the questions you’re looking for.

“What’s a PCT?” “What should I start out with?” “How much Deca should I take?” “What should I take Deca with?” “Can police dogs smell roids?”

All you experts know the questions that get asked all the time, and you know the answers. Why not consolidate it into one easy to use FAQ and then you won’t be so annoyed. Make it a must read before posting on a thread. How’s that? That’s so simple and so practical.

See, using your brain is how you handle problems, Division, not by reacting irrationally, lashing out your frustration on someone who meant no harm by his question. Those techniques worked in school, but not in real life (well, maybe here with Instant.Muscle and the likes, but not most of the rest of us).

Physical strength was king in the cave-man days, when the strongest was the best. In the jungles tribes of Africa, it works still today. But in our modern society, only the cultured and mentally strong, muscles or not, are the ones to succeed. Either come back to reality, get out of your fantasy world of living in your Jr. high days, or move to the jungles of Africa.

I have wanted to join as a Platinum Member, but people like Division make me question it’s usefulness. I want to ask questions and get decent answers, not get railed on by some high school dropout who’s living in a fantasy world.

If he can take any kind of constructive criticism at all, I would like to nominate Division to head up this task of soliciting and contributing questions and answers for the FAQ. If he is willing to do this, along with the rest of you, mark my words, this site’s platinum membership would double in size and would be renowned as an outstanding source of fitness information worldwide.

Are you up for the challenge, Division?

Man, you took a long time writing that. I've learned that you can't take everything Division says to heart, he really knows what he's talking about and gives some good info most of the time(along with his trashing of you). Don't know Instant.Muscle, but Div is not that bad. I've posted a few wrong things(thinking I was right), and got told about it. I asked questions and got told to search the threads, so I did. Yes, it's hard to search the threads because, like you said, you can't get a straight forward answer. BUT, YOU CAN FIND THE ANSWER YOU'RE LOOKING FOR, YOU JUST HAVE TO READ A LOT. I did it and I learned quite a bit and I consider myself to be somewhat knowledgable about steroids, their uses, PCT and the likes. I'm not saying I know anything compared to some guys(Jenetic being the one that stands out most in my mind), but I think I know enough to be helpful around here and I try my best to post good info for people who ask.

They get pissed off because some don't do any research. This is not the only website that has steroid info on it. At least do a google real quick. And as the rule in the newbie sticky states

If asking for advice on any sort of AAS or the like please include the following information:

1 - Age
2 - Lifting History
3 - Height
4 - Weight
5 - Estimated BF% (Or at least, lean/think/fat etc...)
6 - Diet
7 - Goals
8 - Proposed cycle (To show that you've at least done a little homework.)

Having the same questions being asked over and over again can get a little irritating. Whatever, just my 2 pennies :mix:

that was long but its my day off so i read it and my thoughts are that i agree with ya. i really dont know division but i agree with ya on the part how this is a internet board and there IS going to be newbie questions and if you cant answer a simple question like a man with respect then dont answer at all--calling someone a retard or anything else is blatantly ignorant and disrespectful to those coming here for advice. There i said what i thought im done.

Division is not a bad guy at all bro, but he's been on here for so long and has extensive knowledge that sometimes he gets irritated at some of the questions that to him are out there and to some of us just need explination...think of it this way...on the lines that you were talking about people being educated and having a degree.....at some point in that guys life after he has mastered his trade, has the knowldege under his belt...has done that trade for years...he's an expert of some sort...now you have the new kid on the block...and i dont care what anyone says but the professional WILL get annoyed at the new kid for his ignorance at some point, will roll his eyes, will call him out on it, under his breath will call him an "idiot" WE all do it when we master something..its just natural i believe...So Division in my book is an outstanding guy...outspoken and yes he will slam you at some point when he feels the need to...but hey...i think we have all done that at some point in our lives..wether it was with the new trainee at work or in sports slaming the new kid for dropping the ball...and then there is your second option..if you dont like what he has to say...then dont read it...simple.....I dont think that anyone that defends Division is a brown noser...they just understand the person thats all...you have some bros that will call you out every time for your newbie question then you have some that off the bat will give you an answer......its your choice which to listen too...

Well, I think he has a point, and sometimes Division takes it a bit too far, but I'm a chill guy and you can do whatever you want to me on a forum and I won't give a damn, 'cause you don't know me and I don't know you. Other people might take things a bit more seriously, and might get offended/annoyed at insults such as those Division throws 'round the table once in a while.

Remember that in the end, it is up to you to become offended. Other people can throw a thousand insults at you, but you're the one who has to catch them.
