bulking to cutting advice

Going into my cutting cycle soon and have been doing my home work on different approaches. It seems to me that it simply boils down to reducing your calorie intake via carbs and bad fats, but not eliminating it all together. Throw in some cardio in the morn on an empty stomach. Maintain high protien and weight workouts and all should be sweet [in theory]. Any extra thoughts/advice to help a bro along? It's almost summer here and and even though i recently clocked 200 lbs of quality muscle, the old abs are slightly obscured and i gotta get those bad boys ready for the beach!!!! :evil: K for the good stuff!
 
multiply your bodyweight by 12. thats how many calories you should start taking in. once your weight has settled at a point for a few days. take that weight and mulitply it by 11. stick with that many calories until your weight plateaus again. by the way, i advise you stick to 40% pro, 30% carb, and 30% fat. on my cutting, i lift 4 days a week and do light cardio for a half hour the other 3 days a week on an empty stomach. youll lose weight in no time. good luck!
