**bulking,how could ala help me**

This year i will be bulking all the way through the summer. I'm about 14% bf and am going on holiday in august. I want to lean out just to get rid of a little tyre but i do not want to diet since i'm trying to gain mass. How much ala would i need a day to get down to about 10% by august? How many times a day should i take it?
 
ALA helps by shuttling glucose into the cell, from what I have read more so muscle cells than fat cells. Its usually taken with meals or terrible heart burn can ensue. For fat loss, high doses are recommended, but seem to vary from person to person. SOme get good results on 1500mg/ed other need 3000mg/ed, you will have to experiment a bit.
 
I heard it is expensive so i looked it up and the cheapest i could find(uk) was 90 x 200caps=18000g for £25 or $40. So it will cost me £25 a week to use this stuff, anywhere i can get it cheaper that will ship to England?

Hey Big Ed,

ALA is trial and error till you hit the right dosage. It took me about 2 weeks to find mine and i take 1800 3x daily i think it has a lot to do with your weight...Im 280 my partner is 185 he take 900 3x daily and gets the same results....I am taking it for cutting on the ckd..Its the only thing that keeps me in fully blown out ketosis, and it really does......Downfalls, tired constantlu, workouts suffer and muscles take longet to repair. But its worth it to loose B/F...

Yep, totally trial and error. Eventually I settled into 1200-1500mg/meal, no matter how many meals I eat. However, I am now bulking up, and must say that since I increased the amount of carbs I'm taking, the tired-ness is virtually non-existant. I really like taking 1500mg with 218g carbs (that's 2 carbo-force drinks) just before I workout, and while I feel that strange woozy feeling intitially, the minute I hit the iron, it's ABSOLUTELY GONE, replaced by alertness, and amazing pumps.... Just don't wait longer than 30 minutes after taking that before hitting the iron, or you'll just want to hit the pillow instead....

how much iron...

is recomended when takin ala?
more than what would be in a good multi?
i personally love ala,great stuff,i would definately take it bro
 
i take 600mg ala with every carb meal. i eat about 200-250 carbs per day.

i usually end up at around 3g per day.

when i first tried ala, i was real tired and lethargic. i upped the carbs, im in moderate to deep ketosis always, and i have tons of energy and the workouts are awesome. i you still feel tired, try an xenadine or hydroxycut 1 or 2 a day. i feel great on this combo.

it sux w/out carbs.
 
How many times a day do i have to take it? Every solid food meal or with protein drinks as well? I will be using 3g a day.
 
If you are on no carbs then I would just spread it out but otherwise I would take a larger amount with the larger carb meals. - cbeaks
 
After reading the thread ''is ala all that'' someone said that taking in ala on a high carb diet will make you gain more fat by transpoting it to the fat cells. Is this ture?

not sure but i would think it would transport more to muscle. thats the whole point of it

Pact, ALA would help with a 'bulking' diet if you were insulin resistant. But remember that ALA also dramatically increases GLUT4 surface expression and glucose uptake into adipose cells. So in a high carb/high calorie environment it will just make it easier for your fat cells to store more fat once your muscles are full. In other words, ALA does not 'starve' fat cells, but by lowering your blood glucose rapidly it helps return insulin resistant folks to a more favourable fat-burning state than without ALA.

What does this all mean?

That by just adding ALA to a meal you have
diverted MORE NUTRIENTS into your muscle
cells than into your fat cells.
This is what a nutrient-partitioning agent does.
The net result is an increased muscle-gain over the
long-run with a smaller fat-gain.

To give you a quantitative idea, if a person
gains 10lbs muscle and 10lbs fat in a bulking
cycle w/o ALA. He/she is likely to gain around
14lbs muscle and 6 lbs fat if he/she would have
taken ALA.
 
I have found that consumming 3 grams of ala per day on a high carb diet 350 to 400 grams keeps me very lean and it almost makes it impossible for me to put on any fat sinse I have an ectomorphic body type. I am currently eating around 400 grams of carbs and taking in 3 to 4 grams of ala and staying lean all the time with a bit of water retention from all the carbs, but I still did not put on any noticeble fat with using that dosage of ala. :D
