Give me a list of BULKING CARBS?

YAMS
POTATOES
BREAD
WHOLE WHEAT PASTA
RICE
BROWN RICE

wha about Mac and Cheese

is that the Kraft Mac and Cheese ?? is that good

Don't forget your OATS....my personal favorite....

...and be sure that your bread is whole grain...none of that enriched white bread...

Hmmm - mac and cheese - seems to me that the Kraft Brand would be made with rather cheap, and consequently highly processed enriched white flour....could be wrong...but if this is the case I would avoid it....

i shall live of potatoe,yams ,brown rice,potatoe for 8weeks:)
I don't see any problem with eating some stuff you like. If you want to have some Mac & Cheese, go for it. It's painful enough to be dieting, without making bulking into a chore as well. Your also less likely to eat enough if you're sticking to same boring stuff you always eat. Just don't get too crazy.

if you do not have the appetite to constantly eat a lot of starches all day maltodextrin is a excellent way to boost the complex carbs intake up for weight gain.

If you're bulking it's ok to have the "not so good carbs" just do it in moderation. Don't attack the macaronni and cheese like it's the last plate of it you'll ever have, know what i mean? The more fiber contained in your carbs the better so stick w/ brown rice, whole wheat breads, certain pastas, potatoes are ok... etc. But like i said you can eat the other carbs just do it in moderation.

Whole Wheat pasta is the best, but pretty expensive as pasta goes. I have been eating a new kind lately that I would compare to a wheat bread as far as carbs go. Not really 100% unprocessed whole wheat, but better than white. It tastes pretty good too.

Try a vegetable pasta like spinach pasta which is high in vitamins and protein. Also when bulking, just eat eat eat....a good replacement for some bread which has moderate protein and high in carbs would be whole wheat or multigrain bagels. By the way which contain more nutrients??

multigrain vs whole wheat????

I wish that I could stomach whole wheat pasta. I don't get too concerned about the quality of carbs when bulking. However, I generally eat my pasta an hour after my post workout shake so a higher insulin response is actually desirable. Otherwise, yams and old fashioned oats are my carb sources.

How come you can't stomach whole wheat past? I would eat some about 2 hours before my workout and LOOK OUT!! Plenty of energy to last me through my workout.

All non-fructose carbs are pretty much the same on a bulking cycle. High glycemic ones will increase insulin and leptin (via insulin) a bit more, so a bit of an argument can be made in their favor, but if you are eating a ton, you will get a pretty good insulin spike, regardless.
