Bulking and Physical Fitness

I have to take a physcial fitness test next month(I am in the reserves). I started another bulking cycle 2 weeks, but im afraid if I get too big I will fail. I barely passed the last Test, cause I had put on a ton of weight and didnt do any cardio. Is it possible to make any quality gains if I have to do a bunch of cardio???

What are your stats/age? What branch are you in? I am assuming it is only a 1 1/2 mile run?

What do you need to do, Pass the test so do what you need to do to do it. You know yourself better than anybody else. And yes you can put on mass while doing cardio, Do 3 x 20 min sesions per week and see how you go.

I am in the army reserves. Push ups and sits I dont have much of a problem with. The 2 mile run I will have a problem with, unless I put some miles in. BTW I am 26 5'8'' 190, I was 135 last feb. I gained about half muscle/ half fat, so I am carring alot more weight for my frame and for my cardiovascular system.

I started my cycle 2 weeks ago, but found this past weekend I will be tested next month. I plan on running, the concern I have is that I might be wasting my bulking cycle if I have to do tons of cardio. I had success with bulking in the past but I didnt do cardio. Also, I am not sure how my body will respond to training for running and bulking. I am much slower since I have put on weight because I havent ran in months or done cardio of any sort. Also, would gaining extra weight while trying to get into shape hinder my efforts, or should my body respond to both types of training. I have experience training for both, but not at the same time.

You can make quality gains, your diet needs to be in check first. Its time to condition yourself (cardio). Good Luck.

What are you trying to do, On the one hand you say you need to pass this test. On the other your worried you wont bulk up as much if your doing cardio. No you wont put on as much mass if your doing loads of cardio. You need to figure out what you want to do, And whats more important to you because we cant tell you.

This is what I figured, now I just need to figure out wether I want to stay on try maybe gaining a few pounds of muscle, or cut myself off early and start over after my test.

I don't see why people fret over cardio. If you do a session and burn 500 calories, eat an extra 500 to make up for it...or an extra 750-1000 if you're really that concerned...no big deal.
