Bulking: 8lbs in 8 weeks???

Ok, this is my first bulking cycle and most of my info I got from here :) so, here is how its going so far.... using a 50/30/20 split:

About 8 weeks ago i was barely 150lbs. I wanted to eat very clean the whole time since I din't want to get too much extra fat. I know thats not easy but thats why I wanted to go slow and try for about 1lb per week. My goal is a solid 15lbs (165) in about 16 weeks....

Well just yesterday at the gym I weighed in at 158! I have never weighed this much ever...... This morning I weighed myself again and was exactly 159!! WOW! I think something is starting to kick-in!! Maybe by the end of this weeked i'll be at 160 .... Im about 5'9 with a crazy fast metabolizm ....

The only thing Im really adding is ONE extra meal (500 cals) per day around 3pm... Never ate at this time prior to bulking....

I thought I would "never" be able to gain weight without eating junk food/fast food and drinking lots of shakes......Well so far I'm still gaining, eating very clean, and best of all NO SHAKES!!!
Im eating: oatmeal, egg whites (1-2)yolks, chicken, fish, 96% lean red meat, pasta, potatoes, flax, peanuts/PB, and whey shakes ONLY after workout! No other shakes... All real food.....
I remember not too long ago I would weigh myself at the gym and would always be EXACTLY the same weight...week after week... 148lbs....
So does this seem good so far for a first "bulking-clean" cycle? I think i might slow down at 165 or so, but we will see how it goes and how I feel at that weight.....

do yourself a favor and check your body fat every 2-3 weeks. you need to stay on top of "where" these gains are. if it's not going to LBM you will have to adjust your diet.

2 things to remember when it comes to dieting in this sport. the faster weight comes the odds are most of it is fat. and the quicker you lose weight the higher the percentage of LBM you will most likely loose.

Should I use those calipers? they have some at my gym... I seem to be about the same.. dont seem to be getting a gut or too much fat or anything, but yea Ill try them on Sunday...

But personally, 1lb per week does not seem too fast to me at all!
Some peple here post about gaining 15-20lbs in one month!!
But thanks for the advise, cause as you can tell, Im not trying to get too much fat in the process :D

I know what ya mean about that :D

so you think this is good .... 1lb/week or so....

Yeah, its a very nice rate to be gaining LBM at.

Its been said above, but monitor your body composition to ensure the weight is coming on as lean as possible, providing you want to keep gaining it that way, of course.
