bugs and protein?

has any company ever made a protein out of bugs? I mean, why not. You can grow the crap out of them, the bugs would be clean from drug like anti-biotics and hormones. And the bugs would not take up much space. And if this was possible, what kind of bug would they use..........I know it sounds sick, but my pick would be roaches or grass hoppers.....
