its a choice for him to make, although if i were his kids i was still be pissed, even if they are getting mini fortunes they should still get the mother load....

his daughter asked him for money to redo her kitchen and he told her to borrow money from a bank. :lmao: he is super frugal but still gives his money away to charities. :whatever: as far as his kids go, his philosophy is, there is no such thing as a free lunch.

i think his original wife is going to take a nice chunk of his estate if she outlives him, so she might wind up leaving a shitload of money to their children. their children are kinda old now, so it might be the grandchildren benefitting the most.

for most we want our children to have a better life than we did. i would leave the bulk of it to my kids but thats just me.

tax deductible?

im not a finance guru but why do people give away money for a tax deduction? i mean you give away a bunch of money only to save a little on tax's. doesnt make sense.

Wealthy people regularly give large cash gifts to family to decrease their taxes. Whether that is noble or not is not for me to decide.

As for them giving to charities, that is a good thing, regardless of what motivates them to do it. The fact is that countless strangers will benefit from their charity.

As for me personally, if I have any money left to give to my girls, yes, they can have it. I can't take it with me. Unless they have done something awfull. Then their share will go to the other children. But I will give to my sister's children equally. Their parents have supported me and helped me out when no one else would.

As for giving to charity personally. Once I am in a position to, I will do everything I can to advocate battered/abused women and children.

Nah, loooooooooooong before then.

The yacht will be a home for me, my husband and all of our kids so you know it will have to be pretty big as between the two of us we hope to have all SIX of them with us.

If this makes me selfish for wanting to give our children THE WORLD then call me selfish. :)

I believe anyone who keeps anymore than they need for food, clothing, housing, ect(the basics) is really selfish. I think they should model themselves after me, I work public service and any extra money I have I give to the casinos so that they can do something good with it.

LOL

My husband has a patch on his vest that says, "I spend all my money on women, the rest I waste on beer."
