from CNN...
Tropical Depression 18 had top sustained winds of 30 mph, but forecasters predicted it would gain intensity and become Tropical Storm Rita by Monday morning.

At 8 a.m. ET Sunday, the storm was about 430 miles east-southeast of Nassau, Bahamas, and was moving west at near 12 mph, according to the hurricane center.

Forecasters said the storm's projected path would take it through the Straits of Florida between South Florida from Cuba. By Wednesday morning, the storm could become a hurricane and move into the Gulf of Mexico.

the highest name was Otto last year at the end of November
they're expecting Rita and it's only mid-September
last year it was 5 storms in the last 10 weeks, luckily only 1 reached land

We will run out of letters to start with names with and have to go back to double letters. Can you imagine the news forecaster saying "Here comes AA" and all the drunks rushing the liquor store to horde up.
