Bruce J. Nalder, MD(?) - Read this before scheduling

This post is an example of why you should select your surgeons very carefully. There seems to be a perception that Bruce Nadler is a world class plastic surgeon that does outstanding work on body builders and the physically fit. As the information below tends to show, his seemingly fine public reputation seems to be contradicted by information available from public sources. Remember he is not Board Certified and probably would not ever qualify based on his record.

From the website of the Office of Professional Conduct New York State, Dr. Nadler was Censured and Reprimanded and placed on probation for 5 years for failure to maintain adequate patient records for 9 different patients. You can read about it here http://w3.health.state.ny.us/opmc/f...eeb3409803dca5b785256a4a0047e3b1?OpenDocument

or

http://w3.health.state.ny.us/opmc/factions.nsf/physiciansearch?openform
just type in Nadler to read the complaint

As part of his disciplinary package, he seems to be prohibited from ever moving his license to another state. Remember this is failure to keep adequate records on 9 different patients.

Dr. Nalder's malpractice record is frankly terrible. You can read about his 3 recent malpractice settlements here http://www.nydoctorprofile.com/search_parameters.jsp
just type in Bruce Nadler and then click on Legal Actions

It gets worse, Dr. Nadler currently has 3 malpractice cases in jury trial. You can read about those here http://portal.courts.state.ny.us/pls/portal30/cms_dev.attorney_court_schedules.show
just type in Nadler after clicking on Defendant

You can find additional information on these trials on the New York State Unified Court System. Notice how mad his patients get at him in some of the filings. If you are really interested you can get the transcripts for these trials from the Suffolk County Court house. There is evidence of two more lawsuits that were filed and did not go anywhere.

Dr. Nalder's malpractice problems are about as bad as it gets for a practicing doctor and really inexusible. You would never find a top drawer surgeon with a malpractice record this bad.

I'm willing to bet that Nadler is having major problems getting malpractice insurance, since New York State is one of the worse states for malpractice. That is an appropriate question to ask him if you choose to see him.

I think the high prices he quotes has more to do with his malpractice insurance than his skill and quality as a surgeon, which is probably not very good.

In my opinion one of 3 things is going to happen to Dr. Nadler probably sooner than later:

1. He is driven out of practicing by the high cost of his malpractice insurance. He would be considered a high risk doctor for insurability.
2. The state suspends his license due to future patient complaints.
3. The state revokes his license due to future patient complaints.

Let's all monitor this situation to see what happens to him.

If you really want to see him, you now have some relevant information to ask him about. It's all fair game. To put perspective on his malpractice and disciplinarian record, ask you personal doctor or other board certified surgeons you are considering. MAKE SURE YOUR DOCTORS ARE BOARD CERTIFIED. This is a perfect example as to why this is important.

As you can see, Bruce Nadler has lots of patient problems and unacceptably high rate of patient dissatisfation. If you are scheduled with him you may want to reconsider, if not good luck.

Awesome sleuth work.

Thanks, the public has a right to know to make the best decision. This doctor is certainly not going to say anything about his problems.

Personally, I think this doctor has botched many surgeries, many more than the 8 the public records indicate. Remember not everybody has enough money to sue a doctor for professional incompetence. If it goes to trial, it might take $250,000 to $500,000 in lawyers fees just to try the case.

Nadler has 3 malpractice cases in jury trials at the present time. This must be some sort of record for a practicing plastic surgeon.

In my opinion, Nadler has not been trained properly for the procedures he is performing, the height of disrespect and irresponsiblity towards his patients.

The "Liposuctionator" looks more like "Bruce the Botchman". Dr. Nadler if you are seeing these posts jump in and defend your record. This is your community, body builders and the physically fit.

Careful wsj, you are treading a very thin line bordering on libel.

While this information may be available freely to those who search for it, simply posting it on an internet discussion forum along with your opinion in the post above makes this nearly libelous.

I caution you with this regard. Even if the information you posted was/is true, you may be sued for your intentions of posting it here if it ultimately affects Dr. Nalder's practice. Even though you might post anonymously on this forum, there are ways of finding out who you are. This discussion board maintains an IP address log.

(I am a physician, but I do not know Dr. Nalder. I am providing this information to you for your protection.)

WSJ: I find it IRONIC (cough cough) that you have hardly any posts yet bring forth such "well written knowledge" regarding Dr Nadler. WHY would we NOT think you're simply here to trash Dr Nadler for "personal reasons"?

Awfully fishy post IMO! Seems like an egregious attempt to defame IMO.

Not to mention -- probation for NOT keeping adequate patient records is a f'ing joke! It reveals NOTHING about about the doctor's competence with regard to surgery; it simply reveals his record keeping needs attention!!! Big F'ing DEAL!

I don't know Dr Nadler whatsoever but defamation-like posts such as these are dishonest, sneaky, misleading and piss me the F'ck off!

that's funny. I was about to schedule some swurgery with him. Thanks for the help. He actually makes you sign a waiver saying that you understand that he does NOT have malpractice insurance!

Damn it so it's back to the drawing board for me. I need a reccomendation on a a good plastic surgeon. I need to get rid of this gyno! Can any1 help out?
