Bridging/ The Crab? Who does it?

Hola,

Thouh I would throw this on in...I swear by this

YouTube - Bridge. Gymnastics. Hell Yeah.

I used to do this a lot, gonna work it back into my routine. This video example may not be technically the best, but the chick is hot!! You get the idea

I used to do this a lot. My mom teaches yoga and its a variation on a yoga move. I normally try and hold the position for 90 seconds. Its a killer but hugely beneficual for muscular development of the whole back/ legs, flexibility and promotes bloodflow to the brain.

Another variation is to support your weight with your head only (raise ur hands from the floor) and rock forwards and backwards, hyperextending the neck.

I know this is a fave with some of the big WWF schools

Why do i feel dirty all of the sudden? Will someone please tell me she was at least 20 years old? I'll feel much better :)

And yeah, that's a hard ass hold. I used to do those and could never hold longer than a few seconds.

Shew, i'm glad she's 20.

Yeah, i remember it burning my back and traps trying to hold that position. Especially if you rock back like she did so well on that video.

That girl looks like she's 12.

I was under the impression that that was a wheel. Not a bridge. A bridge is very similar, except the weight is on the shoulders not the hands. I think the misinterpretation comes from the difference between Gymnastics, and Yoga. Gymnastics = Bridge, yoga = Wheel.

Semantics aside, It's a great exercise, one that is typically found in most group exercise work. The major benefit is in the stretch of the hip flexors and abdominal.

I will do bridges during my cool down on the occasion.

That's nice, but not so impressive i must say, at her age and being a girl she could grab her one legs... just saying.

But yes that's benefitial and I can do that stuff!

i do them, especially after abs, awesome ab stretch.

and after you get out of it; stand up, keep your legs straight and and feet just apart enough for balance and bend over and wrap you hands around you ankles, grab your wrist with one hand from behind you ankles if you can, dont bend you legs. this feels amazing after the bridge. and toss in some torso twists and every limb in your body is going to be happy. utter relaxation.:p
