Breatfeeding in public........WTF

i'd have a word with it

pregnant women seem to think anything goes when it comes to behaviour because the little one means they will get the sympathy. this is clearly innappropriate

expect her to go mental when u tell her btw. put in a formal complaint if she doesnt listen

Before I get started let me make it clear that I love breasts :)

So here is what happens........

I'm at work and on my only non-contact lesson (I teach). I have to go and see the technician so that she knows what equipment I need for the next week. As I walk into the techs room all I see is this woman with her tit out breast feeding her kid. She showed no embarassment whatsoever.......in fact she looked proud of the fact that she had her tit out in non-private room.

Bear in mind that the room in question is used by several teachers to isolate disruptive pupils........so any kid could have walked in. There were also classes of kids in the rooms to either side of the techs room.......and they have adjoining doors with clear glass windows. I just dont get it........WTF is up with not using one of the many private rooms???

If this happens again then a complaint will be made.......she threatened to come back when the brat was bigger. Oh and WTF is up with babytalk?????????

I understand that kids should be spoken too even when very young........it is a good stimulus. But why model a language that doesnt exist?? goochie-goochie fucking goo my ass!! WTF is that?

You should have grabbed a chair planted it hard on the ground in front of her and started a conversation on how great it is that she is BREAST feeding. Be sure and emphasize BREAST when you say it. Go on and on about the wonderful nutrients and all that wholesome she is the greatest mother of all time crap, but for no reason - ever - take your eyes off her exposed breast. Also keep your hands in your pockets.

haha

I don't have a problem with it if they are hot.... and if they give free samples.... but they never are, so I hate it too....

"touch down" lol.........thats pretty cool :) I'm all for breastfeeding....much better for the kids......but there is a right time and place.

Uncle Bully.......if I am truthful.........no. Not that it matters.

I nursed my son, but I prefered to be somewhere discreet. Mostly because I wanted it to be quiet so he wouldn't get distracted and dilly-dally.

I never baby-talked my son, and he's been speaking clearly since he blurted out "Touch Down" when he was 9 months old. I don't see the point in it.

breast are good, breasts with little kids stuck to the end of them is a major turn off, just looks gross.....I wonder what we look like when were sucking on them HAHAHAH goochie-goochie Goo!!!

I agree on the baby talk thing. Teaching your children mindless babbling is not productive to the development of their minds. I'm going to read Steven Hawking to my firstborn. Maybe his first line will be, "mommy, don't you know that time and motion are relative?"

HEY WAIT A SEC goochie-goochie Goo kind of sounds like SCOOBY SCOOBY DOO……. WHERE ARE YOU…BASTARDS we are all tricked, the theme music to Scooby doo brain washed us

LOL!

what does this have to do with BREATFEEDING?

i wanted to talk about BREATFEEDING

My best gal pal will spontaneously whip out her boob to feed and inside my head I'm like, "OMG,OMG not the boob, not the boob."

Fortunately there is no baby talk to be heard, except when I am playing with the beasts (animals).

It is truly astounding the irrationality of modern society. It matters not that children are piercing literally every inch of their face and body, for the ridiculous notion of "individuality" and "expression". That every alternative lifestyle can have parades with the most obscene and blatantly "in-your face" manner, and be hailed as liberating. Religious expression is demonized and considered oppressive. Film and radio promulgate the lowest of the low styles of art under the banner of free speech.

But let a woman perform a perfectly natural act which promotes a healthy and strong rearing of her child and God Help us all, that is the sickest, most debased action one can fathom.

This occured at a school, right? Where sex education courses are taught to young children? Often with demonstrations of how to have safe sex?

Who forgot to teach them about the end results of sex? This woman should be asked to sit in this room and breastfeed and allow the children to enter and witness a responsible and caring parent.

And by the way, baby talk is not repressive of intellectual development.

You are having a laugh right? You are suggesting that it is okay for a woman to breast feed in front of kids without getting any consent whatsoever? Incidentally, parents have a right to withdraw kids from sex ed classes.......it is not compulsory. Bottom line is, consent MUST be obtained if pupils are to be exposed to anything related to sex.

Also, the majority of the kids in the school have a strict muslim upbringing........do I need to explain where many muslims stand when it comes to women baring flesh in public?

Do I also need to mention the fact that this is a professional place of work? I was actually prevented from doing my job because of this woman. I wonder how she would have felt if I had started stripping off..........I can guarantee you that a formal complaint would have been made.

BTW baby talk is mindless babble........

I am not familiar with British law, but here in the US, it is legal for a school official to bring a female student to have an abortion, without parental consent. So, breastfeeding ranks pretty low on offending things that can occur at school.

Bottom line is, consent MUST be obtained if pupils are to be exposed to anything related to sex.

This is not sex. Think of it as a neonatal nutrition course.

Also, the majority of the kids in the school have a strict muslim upbringing........do I need to explain where many muslims stand when it comes to women baring flesh in public?

You expect me to believe that the courts there will rule in favor of the religious beliefs of a group over the natural care of a child? I doubt it.

Do I also need to mention the fact that this is a professional place of work? I was actually prevented from doing my job because of this woman. I wonder how she would have felt if I had started stripping off..........I can guarantee you that a formal complaint would have been made.

Your actions would have had no reasonable purpose, her's does. You can't use that crappy argument

BTW baby talk is mindless babble........

It is entertaining for the parent and stimulates the child. There is no evidence that it is repressive to intellectual development.

//I believe UK law does not allow for abortion involving students without parental consent.

This is not sex. Think of it as a neonatal nutrition course.

//It is related and requires parental permission at least in this country.

You expect me to believe that the courts there will rule in favor of the religious beliefs of a group over the natural care of a child? I doubt it.

//They would rule in the favour of religious beliefs because there were many private places that the woman could have gone to feed her child. Even if this were not the case, she would have chosen to take the kid to the school knowing that she would have to choose between upsetting many kids in an area with high levels of racial and religious tension (we have riots :)) and feeding her kid.

Your actions would have had no reasonable purpose, her's does. You can't use that crappy argument

//Again.....just for you........there were plenty of places for her to go to do this in private. BTW she apparently got a right rollicking by the schools management. Somebody complained (not me) and she will be lucky if she is allowed to return after her maternity leave is over. Seems she behaved unreasonably.........she prevented people from working and caused a situation that could have upset many kids and parents.

It is entertaining for the parent and stimulates the child. There is no evidence that it is repressive to intellectual development.

//Entertaining?? 'No evidence' doesnt mean shit. That just means that nobody hands out funding for studies in that area.

Normally I o the same, but I felt the urge to get up on my soapbox a bit.......off to work at 5 as well, which I am not looking forward to.

It doesn't bother me at all, means the kid is getting a naturally perfect feeding, which is proven better than formula by far-in immune function and healthiness of the kid. PLUS I get a peak, so whip em' out women is what this white boys got to shout.

Tell her you havent seen udders like that since the field trip to the dairy farm

WTF? Somwhere in the Deep South?

It takes a long time to breastfeed, hours and hours a day. I think that's why they don't go isolate themselves. I used a baby blanket looking thing that draped over the baby and there was a velcro attachment to me so it was impossible to be exposed but people still freaked because they knew the baby was BREASTfeeding.....Get over it!

While I agree with most of your post, I find it rather appropriate that religion, which (despite its good characteristics) has and continues to be an instrument of war, control and oppression around the world, is looked upon much more negatively now, and those (gays, etc) who have been relegated to the gutter by society for so long are being a bit blatant in their 'celebration' of their lifestyles...it will all swing back and settle down in a few decades I think.... hell look at feminism if you want to talk about a monster that's really out of control.

lol. The way that is phrased I picture a woman sitting with her hands at her sides, and suddenly and very swiftly yanking out her breast from her clothes like in a western shootout. Billy the Kid style.

For thousands of years, women have breast-fed in public. In every culture and country on the planet.

Why is it so wrong and illegal now in 2003? Is this called human "progress"?

I wonder what we *can't* do in 3003.

-= nav =-

Oh boy

So we'll just disregard the fact that most of the kids are muslim and they happen to be hardcore enough to think that women should minimise the amount of bare skin. Yeah fuck their beliefs......never mind the fact that it was less than a 5 metres walk to get to a private room.

Never mind the fact that the woman was in a lab techs room........complete with lots of chemicals. Chemicals that could not be prepared for lessons whilst she was there.

Never mind the fact that I was prevented from doing my job........

Do i need to spell out why it was wrong?

same applies to males urinating.....yet if my bladder os full its indecent public exposure

why can;t people accept that just because it involves a baby and a mother certain standards must be adhered to. its a school, certain kids havent been exposed to a women like that and you wana stick it in their face?

she had a separate room, she chose not to use it

Finally somebody understands!!

so after they see it once, then those "certain kids" are exposed to it so no problem, right?

its just feeding a kid whats the problem with that?

you realy think its the same as pissing in the street?

No problem except irate parents plus an insulted religious community. In the area that I am in this might well start a riot. I would call that a problem.

I'm all for breastfeeding, but that lady should have used some discretion. You can be discreet even on an air plane. There are some women who want to flaunt the fact that they breastfeed, and exercise their right to do it in public. There is a health food store here called" Wild Oats " and if ya want to see tits, thats the place to go. I once saw 3-4 moms in the cafe' area all breast feeding together. They were "granola" heads. No offence intended to anyone. But these types are usually the ones doing it with their tit just hanging out. I breast fed my son, and managed never to have to expose myself in public.

i think women should be able to breast feed in public as long as i can take her other breast, put it in my mouth and suck on that one.

fair is fair
