I thought it would be useful to make a post sinse some of you seem to think if you get bombed it will mean end of your world.

For example, i bombed Destroyer1986* because he called me a bitching customer, and then he sent me a private message saying:

"You are the saddest person alive
You would have to be the saddest person here neg repping me for expressing my opinion. You really need a life mate."

So for the newbies (ie Destroyer1986*) bombing is not the end of the world. It is not going to effect you in anyway in real life, so there's no need to have a cry about it. Just relax, and have fun.

As with most things, bombs have evolved and serve many purposes. You may have noticed the karma store and G-Bombs for sale, as well as a way to diffuse karma bombs. On C&C Karma and Bombs are used as part of a game, as entertainment.

I think we've all kinda found our peace with this though. As long as there are bombs, people will drop them. Some will be more trigger happy then others, but its not like people are getting blacked out daily in huge unprovoked blackouts.

I've seen no documented cases of members "driven away" because of bombs, bombings, bomb squads, etc.

And if there are any, I'd like to know, because I am sure I can help get these imaginary people back.

I see both sides of it, whatI'd like to see is the ability to do both, bomb habitual trollers and spammers, and give negative karma (without a bomb) to a user who posts something I consider redworthy.

I too see the other side's view as well. I think that ultimately, its all in good fun. There have been a couple bombings that have really pissed people off, and I have actually shelled out real cash to buy them plat just to ensure that there are no hard feelings and that me and my homies don't drive anyone away.

People talk and talk about the Bomb Squad driving people away, or even long time members leaving because of it, but I have yet to been shown one example of a real user leaving for good because they were bombed, or they witnesse someone else being bombed. I mean really, is it that big of a deal? If someone takes it that seriously and leave for good then its probably not that big of a loss to the boards.

I've noticed that, and I've gone to great length to try to work things out with him. I'm generally very well liked here, by mod, plats, non plats... whomever.. I know I can come across wrong sometimes, and when I get all jacked up on T-rex I seem to turn into an asshole, but I'd like to one day be buddies with Big4life.. it doesn't mean either of us needs to compromise what we believe, its just a matter of reaching a level of understanding for each other. Your agument is intuitive, yes, but the thing is, most of the people who get group bombed (alters do not count) actually start posting MORE once they are blacked out, and then once they return to the ligth they all of a sudden have this support group (all the bomb haters) and I feel it accellerates their assimilation into this community as a hole.

I agree with you though, since people don't tell us why they leave, and we often don't know someone has left for good until LONG after that fact, its impossible to know. I'm just saying I don't know of any proven examples where people have left because of the bomb squad (adp10 could be one though).
