Board suggestions. Do not unstick!

Hi all.

I appreciate the efforts of those who come here and contribute to our community of financial and economic wizardry. And I reject the efforts of those who come here and add little. If you don't have much to add, ask questions, hang around, read, learn.

On a lot of posts, many people contribute answers that are not really all that useful toward this board's goals of knowledge accumulation. If you don't know, don't post, or just post "Great question, I was wondering about that too". Eventually, someone will answer knowledgeably.

Also - and this is important - don't post answers like "Read Think and Grow Rich" or "Check out Rich Dad Poor Dad".

(1) Those books and almost all like them are 100% pure garbage. They contain no original information and serve only to overly concentrate the focus on your thoughts.

and

(2) Those sources of info are very well known already

Posts like that are genuinely worthless. So let's try to avoid the nonsense, and increase the knowledge.

PM me if any issues. I am here to help.

How about some books that are worthwhile? Can we get a list on here somewhere?

Correction mon ami:

It's not useful to SOLELY reply with an answer of "Go read XXX book".

But..

It _is_ useful when supplied as an addendum to an existing answer. To support or provide further relevant information on your 3-4 paragraph abbreviated answer.

Sometimes a question can easily solicit a 4-5 page well-thought answer. Unfortunately, time, laziness and repetition can get in the way -- and the easiest way to handle that -- is a summary, easy to understand answer combined with a: "And for more details (if they wish to dwell further into it) is to consult books such as XXX".

Besides -- _everyone_ should be reading books! Source of great knowledge accumulation. I read at least one businessed-minded auto-biography a month.

Business Magazines are the same way. A long winded article on a subject with a "For further reading consult" at the end of it.

But you're right. A silly "Yeah bro, business is tough. Go read Rich Dad, Poor Dad" is meaningless and just cheapens the board.

Yes - this is a good idea, I will make a thread that starts this. But, in order to post to the list, you have to actually put up a (short) summary of what the book is about, to help our audience.

RazorGuns - agreed.
