Board Presses Question...

for those that do board presses, what size boards do you use for board presses? will a 2x4 cut into 1 foot long sections work? and then use velcro to hold them together? Thanks
 
Use 2x6s and cut them 18-20 inches long. (more stable - you will find this out and wish you had if you use 2x4 and 12 inch length)

I have heard velcro works well but have not used it myself.

make sure to have one extra long to use as a handle if you are not going to tie them to yourself (which also works well)

tie them to your chest somehow or use a t-shirt (wear two and put the boards under one of em to hold them in place)

or you can get a bungee cord that will fit around your upper body. use the hooks on either end to hold it together. lay on the bench, and then slide the boards under the bungee.
or just ask someone for a spot, and when they come over, ask them to hold the boards.
 
Workout at home so hopefully no one just happens by that I can ask for a spot. I'd have to yell at our security company that we don't have.

when i used to workout at home i took two old belts and fashioned them so i could belt the boards right to me. worked well for me at the time. there were a couple times my ex wife had to come rescue me cuz i'll be fucked if i'm rolling the weight off of a 4 board and onto my stomach

i could only imagine how bad that would hurt.
