Bo Didley, RIP...

Damn, a great musician that will be missed.

db has been brainwashed by continous listening to the beatles on 8 track tapes for the last 45 years.

Get off it, The Beatles never even recorded any Bo Diddly tunes, what do they have to do with this?

they (the beatles) couldn't keep up with BD on their best days, much less TRY to cover his music.

Look, you're a musician, just count it for yourself. It's very syncopated, but it's clearly in four. That author is an idiot, or a non-musician.

You wanna hear what 5/4 sounds like? Try Dave Brubeck's "Take Five".

I think he titled it an "African 5/4" which may be his expression - yes 4/4.

A better example would be "Living in the Past" by Jethro Tull.

sounds like db thinks he is right even when he is wrong

Yeah, the Tull song's in five too.

The Beatles were asked by reporters while on their visit in February of 1964 who they wanted to see in America. Lennon said, "Bo Diddley and Muddy Waters." A reporter then said, "Where are those places?" Lennon then said, "you don't know your own cultural icons!"

haha! Classic...we lost most of the original bluesmen now, glad I got to see most of them. Buddy Guy was good last year but he doesn't play as much either.
