MEN'S PROFILE TEST

A men's profile test from HealthCheckUSA is a comprehensive health assessment for men. Due to it's popularity, HealthCheckUSA is able to provide the men's profile test at a significant discount. This baseline men's profile tests more than 50 indicators, including "super chemistry" with PSA, testosterone, TIBC, HBA1c, and UA.

SUPER CHEMISTRY

test is generally normal when it is reported between 0 and 4 The men's profile test includes the HealthCheckUSA Super Chemistry test, which also includes the PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) test. Both are helpful for diagnosing and following-up prostate cancer. Of the many methods to test for prostate cancer, the men's profile PSA measurement is considered by most health professionals to be the most accurate. This easy and affordable test measures levels of the PSA protein, which is made exclusively by prostate tissue, and which is raised in cases of prostate cancer and other prostate diseases. A PSAnanograms per milliliter (ng/ml). The men's profile super chemistry test also measures total cholesterol (HDL, LDL, triglycerides), a complete blood count (CBC), glucose levels, kidney, liver, and heart functions, potassium, calcium, uric acid, electrolytes, and iron. All of these indicators are a crucial part of our men's profile.

TESTOSTERONE

Our men's profile also tests testosterone, which is a hormone that effects sex drive and function, and has both typical and nonsexual traits, like muscle mass, voice deepness, hair growth, etc. No men's profile is complete without testing for testosterone.

TIBC

Our men's profile also tests TIBC, or transferrin. TIBC is normally used, along with serum iron, to test for iron levels. Typically, 1/3 of the TIBC measured in a men's profile is used to transport iron throughout the body. In persons with an iron deficiency, iron levels are low, but TIBC levels are increased. A men's profile for persons with too much iron can have TIBC levels that are low or normal. TIBC is produced in the liver, which means that TIBC levels can be low in persons with liver disease. TIBC levels can also be low when there's not enough protein in one's diet, so the TIBC test can also be used in a men's profile to gauge nutrition.

HBA1c

The HbA1c component of the men's profile measures your average blood glucose control for the past 2-3 months. The results of this men's profile test gives a good understanding of how well you are managing your diabetes over an extended period of time. This men's profile test also measures the percent of hemoglobin in your blood that becomes chemically linked to glucose (called glycosylation). Higher levels can mean that there is more glucose in your bloodstream, which is not advisable for good blood sugar control. HbA1c is normal if it is 5% or less. 7% or more means your diabetes is poorly controlled. Abnormally high levels from this men's profile means that you might be at an increased risk for developing complications from diabetes, such as eye and kidney disease, nerve damage, heart disease, and stroke.

Urinalysis, or UA

UA, or urinalysis is a routine part of any men's profile. A UA tests for glucose, which is normally not detectable in urine. A small increase is not necessarily abnormal, and might happen after a carbohydrate-rich meal, or because of stress. In most cases, high glucose in a men's profile means that you might have diabetes. If the results of this men's profile test are positive, your physician will most likely want you to take additional tests. Besides diabetes, a urinalysis can measure a number of symptoms, like discolored urine, painful urination, abdominal pain, and fever. The men's profile test can screen and monitor diseases and conditions such as urinary tract infections, kidney stones and liver disease.
