if you hit a vein or artery when poking will the blood be overwhelming when aspirating or will it be just a little bit,,, or is it a little blood if you pass through a vein or artery?

It usually "rushes" in the vial - as apposed to the suction-tension you feel when you normally aspirate.

In the very unlikely event you hit an artery, please read.

How do you know you hit an artery
• The color of the blood is bright red. It may even be a little foamy or frothy
• It might hurt a lot
• It has a lot of force behind it. Sometimes you don’t even have to pull the plunger back, it just comes right into the syringe
• Sometimes it comes into the syringe in spurts like a heartbeat

What to do if you hit an artery
• PULL OUT!
• Apply firm pressure for at least 5-10 minutes
• If bleeding doesn’t stop, call 911! Or get some help!!

Thanks for the post bro.

can't really add any info to the stuff about the arteries...but just remember when you see blood in the syringe...pull it out and restick.
