Beachbum1546 New member Feb 28, 2006 #3 I take insulin if my sugar is too high. General rule of thumb for me is 1 unit of insulin for every 10 grams of carbs I eat and 1 unit of insulin for every 30 points I want my blood sugar to drop. I'm type 1 diabetic.
