Blood pressure meds

I went to my eye doctor recently and found out that my pressure was up. This was despite the additional eyedrops I was given four months ago to lower the pressure. The only thing I can think of that I have done in between visits is my last cycle. It was Test, Eq, and dbol. I realize that I haven't taken antihypertensives with dbol in years- I think that may be the reason.

Before I bring this subject up with my doctor I'll ask here: What blood pressure meds have you guys used and do you find it effective?

I take toprol XL 50 mgs a day it works very well keeps my pressure under 130 over 80, I check it every day and it keeps it steady. Before I started it would get as high 160 over 100 and I started feeling like shit. High BP runs in my famly, I eat clean and train hard. If I'm doing a cycle I up to 75 mgs a day. good luck

I'm currently on Diovan. Before Diovan my bp was 169/90 or so. Now it's 160/70. Down quite a bit. And I'm also on a heavy cycle right now.

Inderal, but for a side effect of the med, not for hypertension, although I have measured my blood pressure on, and off and I can say that it most certainly does lower my bp. You have to watch out for most bp meds, they're beta blockers so stuff like yohimbe becomes useless, etc.. before you ask for a certain one do some research on interactions.

I've been on every kind of heart med known to man (started treatment at 11). The ACE inhibitors worked the best for me...but I built a quick tolerence to them. Some meds come with side effects...get ready :(

No worries. There ain't nothing wrong with my yang.:)

I'm on captropril. Works like a charm and zero sides.

I was previously on lotrimen and then lotrel but hated them.

i use metroprolol for superventricular tachycardia, but it also lowers my BP quite a bit too. i seem to be stickin around the 115-125 / 70-80 while takin it, where as i was fluctuating around 125-155 / 70-90 before.

don't use inderal. it's the least selective beta-blocker available, and you'll feel like a zombie on it. it's probably a little more effective at lowering BP, but the sides suck ass.

most BP meds can affect sexual function, although i haven't had much of a problem. could be due to my age though.

as far as BP meds making yohimbine useless....beta blockers shouldn't interfere with yohimbine directly, since yohimbine works at alpha-2 receptors. keep in mind though that by blockin alpha-2 receptors, yohimbine prevents NE breakdown. the beta blockers will block the NE at beta receptors though. so depending on what you want to use the yohimbine for, it may or may not still be useful.

i take that back about the eye drops, some of them are meant to lower pressure behind the eye to prevent a mini stroke, ect.

inderal is good for me, but remember there are a total of 86 blood pressure medications in existance!

I see and intend to continue seeing. My eye doc brought this up but wants me to confer with my primary doc to get things straight. This is long term to prevent damage to my optic nerves.

Thanks guys - karma for you all!:eyes:
