Black Box in Your Car Tracks Everything...

These black boxes that are secretly being put into American cars are being used in court to convict drivers.

They measure your speed, your breaking, your acceleration and everything else imaginable.

They are put in without our consent and it really pisses me off.

Another reason not to buy an American shitbox.

An estimated 25 million automobiles in the United States now have so-called event data recorders, a scaled-down version of the devices that monitor cockpit activity in airplanes. Like aviation recorders, automobile black boxes mainly receive attention after an accident.

Thats pretty cool 2Scrawny.

I want to measure my 0-60 times as well as my 1/4 mile times.

What number do I call to get this information?

;)

So that's why those cars were following me.

And people keep telling me that I am just being paranoid. :insane:

I tried to warn them after they implanted that chip in my head, but nobody would listen. Maybe now that I have proof they will listen. :D

No, it is something that is hidden in the car that does not need On Star. It is far worse.

I think ylifter was just adding to the list. Onstar is a system you sign up and pay for through GM but Im not sure how their data is handled in cases of accidents or other events. But to play devil's advocate, I have to say that Im a very careful driver. If I get in a wreck caused by the other driver, there are no witnesses and Im out cold, Id want a record of how it happened.

Bwood what the fuck??? What kind of thinking is that??

Non-paranoid. Some of us actually appreciate law, order and discipline.

LOL!!

if we had forced urbanization, martial law and tanks in the streets, we could eliminate 99.9999999999% of crime.

With a strictly enforced 15 MPH speed limit, we could eliminate traffic fatalities.

Doesn't that sound great?

There is a direct relationship between quantity of life and quality of life. In early empires, quantity of life meant nothing to the government - it was all about quality of life for a few. And we got great pyramids in Egypt and breakthorughs in the Roman empire.

That kind of government cannot allow society to advance because the quality of life is so exaggerated for the ruler.

The empire example is the extreme example of sacrificing quantity of life for quality. No one today enjoys the quality of life of an emperor, except maybe Saudi royals.

An over regulated society (such as ours) places too much emphais on quantity of life, and not enough on quality.

Martial law is the extreme example, where quantity of life must be preserved at all costs, even though life itself sucks under marital law.

The role of government should be to strike a perfect balance between quantity of life, and quality of life. This black box type of idea is too much in the wrong direction.

bwood, Frackal was right homey. Who the fuck are you to call people who dont want their privacy invaded "criminals".

Yes and I find it an invasion of privacy...though there are some merits to it, my feelings are; Never until now have we as a species approached a point in technological advancement where we could literally become a total surveillance society... so I feel that this kind of thing really needs to be nipped in the bud and generally condemned.
