Binge Eatting

Hello ladies! Hope you are all doing well! First of all, I cannot thank you enough for being so helpful and willing to help people on this site. I've only been on here for a few weeks but have gotten a lot of great advice.

Binge eatting!!! Does anyone struggle with this? Now that I am working and going to school(college)... its really improved, but I was wondering if others struggle with it and how they deal with it? I always get it right before my monthly cycle....I usually stay away from sweets and crap like that, trying to do fat free/sugar free pudding and things like that if I HAVE to have it.... enough of me rambling, your turn :)
Thanks a ton!

I'm a hot mess the week before my cycle. I realized it just this weekend too. I ate like a pig, feel like a pig. But, I took the time to try to figure out why. I realized the timing, and I'm vowing next month to be more conscientious. This weekend alone has put my goals back AT LEAST a week, cause if I lose anything this week at all, it will undoubtly make up what I gained from eating like a pig this weekend.

When I experience mild moments of depression or very emotional events, I binge eat and then I won't eat. When I ended my relationship, the Dominoes Pizza delivery guy was at my house at least 2x a week. I had the number on speed dial. Eventually, I bounced out of it and got back to eating better.

I find before my cycle, I crave fats & carbs. I'm not training for a competition, so I have one meal that satisfies that craving (which can be anything from blue corn tortilla chips to a bacon cheeseburger to a peanut butter & jam sandwich). It usually lasts for 2 days. I usually keep the other meals tight for those days and during that time period. If those 2-3 cheat meals in one week make me feel better and slow down my goals, then fine.

I suffer from the urge to binge too. Supposedly when one starts to eat clean, you lose the taste for rich, bad foods. But not me! Everything tastes 10X better. What I do is allow myself one cheat meal or depending on the situation, an entire cheat day, but limit all my bad eating to this defined time period. After it is over, I get right back on program. Since I'm not training for competition, I think this keeps me sane but still allows me to keep to my regime easily enough for the rest of the week.

Right now, I am working on not going so hog wild during my cheat periods...I eat like I've have come out of a famine, and I realize that's not healthy either.
