Bill Phillips' Body-For-Life

Hi,
Has anyone ever personally tried Bill Phillips' Body-for-Life program, or known anyone who has tried it? what were the results like?

I am not trying to look like a bodybuilder, I just want to be fit and lean. I guess a muscular fitness model body would be my ideal. Do you think that I can achieve that result with the Body-for-Life program?

I used to work out with my doctor, a female, who was on BFL for about 5 months before we started working out together. She made more progress and had more changes in her physique after training for 3 months with me than she did the entire 5 months of doing BFL.

I agree w/bigsteve- BFL works great for newbies that have never used weights- but the diet (based on EAS products) is a rip off.

my mom did BFL and saw great results, I think most people knock it here because its not a mass/bodybuilder type routine, but geared towards the average joe.

The diet is probably the most sensible part of the whole program.

thanks for the replies thus far. Everyone knocks EAS, but frankly, I don't care if I overpay a little, so long as I get good results. I'm not looking to become the biggest or the leanest guy out there, but if I could get turn a few heads at the beach this summer, that would be great ;)

He is out of the game for EAS. Yes the program works, but so does any program that restrict calories and adds a wt program. His eating for life book was a good read too. I thought it provided good low cal diets with a shopping list. Look at him in the book insert, his bigger physic has now fallen to a triathletes physique. To each their own.

bill philips was a marketing genius...sold a lot if supps from his body for life...anyone remember those videos he put out when he gave away the corvettes?? Sold me back in the day

Yeah, the videos were very inspirational.

I don't follow this program, but I did start the challenge...twice but never finished! I DO know plenty of people who took and finished the challenge. All saw results of varying degrees. I agree that it is a good program for the beginner because it's a no brainer. Everything is planned for you and ready to roll...you just gotta do the work.

With the worksheets available online, they've made it easy for the average Joe to track meals and training...great habit to get into. Anyone can to to their website and download the forms and plug in your own meal plan...actually comes in handy. I've been consistently tracking my training for 2 "Lil' Fat Notebooks" worth now...it's been great for me.

In all, apply the PRINCIPLES (eating frequent smaller meals, weight training, etc) and you'll see results in whatever program you do.

I read the book back in the day as well...it was a good read.

When you go from doing nothing to following a coherent plan, you will get results. That being said, there are a lot better workouts out there. The dieting advice seems pretty decent, but then again it's hard to botch it: "Eat bodyweight x 10 in calories, and 1 g/lb of protein. Eat EFA's, take a multivitamin."

I've done it, it was OK. I've had better results on my own. The short workouts were what killed me. I personally do better with a slightly longer slightly less intense workout. It was a good starting point because it is simple.

anyone could have good results if they were eating the recommended diet...

Myoplex is some quality ass shit...I wish I could afford it. Luckily I have a girl who works at a smoothie place and hits me up with a KILLA post workout shake...double Myoplex/bananas and peanut butter...mmmmmmmmmhhhhh

i would agree, but i thought he pressed his case and he was clean?

yup... I think your right- it was just initially he tested postive. Didnt that guy end up making a fortune on another web site?? like skinnyguy.com or something??

I just looked at the dude's web site. What a douche bag. That looks like some cheesy ad in a late 1970's comic book geared towards skinny teenagers who know no better.

Also, I can't stop laughing at this.....the guy said he had his colon cleansed to try to gain muscle, isn't that where they shoot water up your ass or something.
