ok. this may be really dumb.. and you can flame if you want. but i need some help. --> To lose fat, you're supposed to burn more calories then you intake. ie. being calorie deficit right? so heres the question. am i supposed to intake less calories than my BMR? My BMR is 1800.
If i intake less than my BMR won't my body just go into "survival mode"? I'm trying to figure this out, as I am as big as I want to be, and want to shed the fat.
 
Not if you are only eating slightly under maintenance calories (say 500 or so). The important thing is not dropping calories ridiculously low.
 
You don't need to take in less calories than your BMR unless you lie on a bed all day long and don't move. To get your maintenance calories you have to add in activity expenditure as well as the fact that you need calories to build and repair muscle after workouts. Once you have this number, then you can eat slightly less than it if you want to cut.
