Yeah! That was pretty rough. I think alot of the guilt they all showed after their grazing session was due to the fact that they realized they just made total fools of themselves in front of millions of people.

my family does, and I occasionally catch a few episodes, but I try and make sure im at the gym for when they watch that shit

it gets worse dude,I only work thur-sat,so everyday I try and hide on elite, but our fucking tv is right next to my head and she watches that evil she devil oprah and fuckhead dr phil before that. I think ill start turning to drugs

LMAO!! I feel for ya orb! Are you talking about your wife or mom??

As odd as it seems since I know it is the peeps on this show that let themselves get to this point, I found myself actually feeling for them and their struggle.

The reasons people let themselves get like that are complicated. It's not just laziness. See how down everyone got? Every fat person you ever see feels like that. But they don't get help from personal trainers, attending physicians, & gyms at their disposal. Or the time to commit.

Is there a fat gene? Because if there isn't there's no excuse to get fat. Sure, some may have higher metabolisms than others, but part of that comes from not being lazy.

After my last wife told me she didn't love me and wanted to leave me after 12 years and 5 kids I went clinically depressed and gained about 55 lbs. Didn't even realize what was happening. There are some circumstances that can contribute to the decline.

It's all in the mind man. I've been through some shitty times that lasted years but exercising helped me through them. It was when I just sat around that things got worse.

For me I wasn't able to focus on anything but how miserable I was. Pathetic I know, but like I said, I didn't even realize what I was doing until I got on anti-d's.

There are genetics involved. This can necessitate a higher amount of effort required to stay thin or fit. Some people just don't want to put in that effort. Or can't, due to other demands on their time.
There are mental issues too. A lot of people use food as a comfort crutch. It's an easy one to access & doesn't require you to actually talk about it. Many people start on the road to obesity & don't even realize it 'til it's too late.
Some of it is medical. I'm diabetic, & when I went on meds I gained around 30 lbs.
It's not like quitting smoking, & you just stop. You have to eat every day anyways, you are constantly bombarded by ads for foods you shoudn't eat. You have to exercise self control every hour of every day while others a consciously or unconsciously trying to sabotage you.
Wifey was making Apple Crisp for desert tonight. She asked me if I wanted some, so she would know how much to make, & I said no. Then she went & made her usual amount. As I was doing the dishes, & they were eating desert, she asked me twice if I wanted some, 'cause she had some left over. I love apple crisp, but I put it out of my mind. Then twice she tempted me & gave me a chance to cave. Waddaya do?

Oh, & some people are just lazy & don't give a fuck. Some people are pigs & don't give a fuck. But you can't tell what they are by just looking at them.

I got caught up in it last season & will watch this season
The guy that got booted this week went on to lose 60 lbs. Even if they get booted off, they take away what they need to finish their goals. Awesome.

Yeah that was cool to see, but some of those peeps will be absolutley lost without someone constantly driving them.

You look at their faces & can tell they don't know an ab from a carb.
I wonder how manny other people it will motivate. Even though I know what I weigh, I still think of myself as I was when I was 18. When I see someone else that weighs the same as I do, I think , whoa are they fat.
Hopefully people that are 250+ will see the comparable person on that show & realize how fat they look. & watching the show, will realize they can do something about it.

I think of those people as inspirational. I used to weigh 170lbs - very heavy for me & see myself in them as what I could have been. Even tho it's taken a "game show" to get them started - the fact that they are starting & going on with it to be inspiring. Hppefully they will take what they learn & carry it with them the rest of their lives.
