big diff. between whey con. vs isolate ??

is there a big difference bewteen whey concentrat and whey isolate. I dont mean a mixed concoction (ala prolab or optimum.) , rather pure concentrate and isolate

would it actually be worth aprox. double the money ??
 
i know the isolate is of much higher quality but i usually go for a mix with mostly concentrate, the only difference i notice is the concentrate gives me bigger farts.

Worry more about getting enough protein in you (i.e. 1-1.5 grams per pound of bodyweight) than what kind of protein.


When it comes to protein, often times quantity is more important than quality.
 
whey isolate absorb faster and so are preferred post workout.

there will likely be no difference in protein percentage, i would go with the cheap stuff if cash in an issue.

A whey isolate is around 90% protein while a concentrate is 80% protein. The rest being made up of fat,lactose, ash, and vitamins/minerals. If you're lactose intolerant then stay away from the concentrate otherwise it's usuallly more cost effective to go with the concentrate over isolate.
 
thnx guys. i have no prob at all digesting conc/ or lactose for that matter. (i drink al lot of milk too)

just splurge for the isolate ....44 lbs is mad haha..... just use it in the morning....after workout and with milk or cottage cheese before bed for the slow down effect.....with some digestive enzyumes ( trust me haha) enjoy the massive whey haha

honestly if its good isolate it will be broken down into oligopeptides which have to only be broken down into di and tri peptides to get real fast absorbtion. The body works well at absorbing these int he small intestine, and actually better than single aminos from some of the stuff ive been reading....bout 15-30 mins abosorbtion starts....and done within an hour...and like 2-3 for other protiens
