dal022 said:resting hr doctors say the lower it is the longer you live not too low of course they usally dont want it under 40 and any kind of beta blocker lowers your hr thats why yours is 40 i take atenolo 25mg and my resting hr is 47-49 i also take 5 mg of norvasc i am on my 3rd cycle havent had a prob yet with aas and bloodpressure pills so you will be fine far as that goes...
errn247 said:a resting HR of 40 is not that great. If your asympotomatic then your fine but if you get dizzy and light headed often tell your MD. 30 wont kill you but if a patient comes in with that HR and is dizzy he gets atropine.

todoveritas said:Yes, 40 is a little low for a normal person not on beta-blockers. Is it a true 40? Take your pulse for a full 60 seconds. If you do not become light-headed upon standing, then I would not worry about it because your stroke volume is adequate to perfuse the big nerve in your head. Of course, if you are worried call your doctor, etc.
