Beta Blockers

I am taking propanolol for a condition i have called essential tremors. Is there anything I should be aware of while training hard on them? Any supplements I should avoid?

Avoid Caffeine, Ephedrine, Synephrine, Norephedrine (PPA), basically all stimulants.

Propanolol blocks stimulation of beta1 (myocardial) and beta2 (pulmonary, vascular, uterine) adrenergic receptor sites. Therapeutic effects are seen w/ decreased heart rate and blood pressure, suppression of arrhythmias and prevention of myocardial infarction.
Side effects include arrythmias (irregular heart rhythem), Bradycardia (decreased heart rate), congestive heart failure, pulmonary edema, fatigue and weakness.
Dose for adults treated for essential tremors is 40mg twice a day, and may be increased up to 120mg/day.
Concurrent use w/ amphetamines, cocaine, ephedrine, epinephrine, norepinephrine, phenylephrine, or pseudoephedrine may result in unopposed alpha adrenergic stimulation (excessive hypertention, bradycardia)

Essential tremors are benign tremors usually of the head, chin, hands and at times voice. These tremors are made worse w/ anxiety or action. Usually there is a family history of this.

Stay away from all stimulants, don't overexercise yourself, don't go balls out in your cardio, and learn to cope w/ stress so that it doesn't overwhelm you.

Hmm, I have been a competative swimmer for a long time while taking this stuff. Maybe I should stop taking it.
