Best way to beat a speeding ticket in court?

PsychoSkitz

New member
Any tips?

I was going 80 in a 55. That's so much bullshit. It's the LIE for chrissakes. Nobody is going 55.

Fucking radar detectors don't do shit in NY! There should be a warning on the box or something.

There was a post a while ago by someone that mentioned how to get out of the ticket which had a ton of responses.

Crying isn't what I was looking for.

LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Or this one works the best say your spedometer wasn't working at all and you where just keeping with the flow of the trafic!!

After that you will have to get your car inspected by any garage pay the garage $15-40 and your done fax the receipt to the court or police office and your off with only taking your car in to be fixed.

Works for everyone who has ever used it.

Go for it!

You could try avoiding such flagrant speeding in the future.

What would we do with out you around!

He asked a simple question if you had no ideas then you shouldn't have replied to it.

Hard concept!

I did have an idea. That's why I replied.

Question: If he wasn't doing 80 in a 55, would he be asking how to beat a speeding ticket in court?

"I was going 80 in a 55. That's so much bullshit." Well, which is it? Were you doing 80 in a 55, or is it bullshit?

Think people, think.

I heard that police have to calibrate their radar guns everyday to make sure they're on target. You may wanna try and ask that. You may get lucky and he didn't or he could just lie and say he did I guess.

make up a good stories and have "witness" that will back you up and are basically willing to lie... besides that the judge basically doesnt care what you say

Put a giant barcode on the side of your car, that way the next time you get shot by the radar the police will read "1 gallon milk: $2.50."

I was thinking of using the excuse that there was no way that I was going that fast because I was getting flashed and passed by numerous cars. The cop was in front of me on the side of the road and pulled out before I approached him so it wasn't like he was behind me following me so his radar could've hit someone else.

Or I can use the excuse that the cop was the ugliest fucking human being I ever saw and if I wanted to get away from him I could've because he was a 68 year old man and I'm a punk kid with a fast machine who has a lot of experience drag racing on America's dangerous streets and that he's lucky I pulled over.

And quit yer bitching about speeding. It's not my fault NY has a 55 MPH speed limit and every other state allows you to go 65-70. I wasn't swerving in and out or anything, just "keeping up with traffic."

I would ordinarily let you in on a couple of hints, but unless there were extenuating circumstances for doing 80 in a 55 then you should pay the fine and try to keep the needle where it should be.

Sometimes it's hard not to speed when there's real need, but 80 mph is almost always fatal in accidents involving pedestrians and in head-on collisions. I've been there to clean up the mess and/or give CPR to victims. I can tell you from experience the neglecting drivers when relatively uninjured wish to hell they'd obeyed the sp. limits (grown men crying, puking and otherwise when there is severe traumatic injury to innocent people). And I don't like having to administer emergency life support, nor does anyone else, so do everyone a favor and slow down.

Karma may have done you a favor...you could've killed someone or yourself otherwise. So this could be a silent testimonial for all you know.

It's 70 here in TX and the rumor mill has been saying that our New Gov is interested in lowering it back to 65

I say screw it all. I drive much faster which does save my road trip time from here to houston about 15min or so if I take the back roads...

there's no excuse buddy. You have the burden of proof. So how are you gonna show the radar wasnt calibrated ? Man Just dont waist money on it cause as far as i'm concern If you loose then you'll have to pay the court admin fees.... Respect the speed limit next time or just buy a better radar detector....

I don't see the big deal. Don't think of it as being penalized for driving above the speed limit, think of it as paying for the right to drive above the speed limit. =)

I have no problem paying the fine.

However I'm not too excited about the possibility of having points on my license.

The person who mentioned that the police have to get the radar guns calibrated is correct and you can ask when was the last time he or she had it done. Also if they say they paced you it can also be bought up that when did they have the cars speedometer calibrated also. You can say that another car passed you at a high rate of speed and if the cop used his radar gun well he must of clocked him and not you. Pray that he doesn't show up so the case will get thrown out altogether. That is going to be a very expensive ticket if you do not get it knocked down or thrown out.CONNECTICUT leads the way with the most expensive tickets in the nation last time I checked. They can write you a ticket for up to like $700 on the spot and in most states the cop can arrest you for doubling the speed limit on the highway. DO what you have to do to get off but do not say anything so crazy that the judge looks at you and asks if you think he or she is stupid, keep it within reason and you may get lucky!! good luck

I know people here in Dallas who have gotten tickets in other parts of Dallas, like Mesquite, and they get the ticket moved to Dallas courts and the Mesquite cop probably won't show up. Voila! You get off. :)

Just go to court and tell them anything. I've never heard of someone going to court and not getting the speed reduced. I just went to court for a ticket and got the speed reduced and not points put on my license.

Hey Bro

Keep a bottle of water in the car......pour it on your crotch and tell the cop you were trying to make it to a bathroom before you pissed your pants.....works like a charm......unless you have some skins on you really don't need to be wet.... ;) :D :mix:

Worst case scenario...

Just go to court, get your 6 points on your license, pay your 90-100 bucks and call it a day.

If you were in Nassau you know the cop will be there to testify against you - they always show up.

If you were in Suffolk - it will depend on which court you're landing up at.

If you already have several points (5 or more) on your license you can kiss it goodbye for 3-6 months.

Not getting a ticket on the LIE is easy - just don't be the fastest car or don't go over 76/77.

Oh and, take the accident prevention course- it will drop 4 points and reduce your insurance by 10%.

Here's what ya do....if you have no other tickets in a while, ask the judge to lower it a bit...once you get the fine amount, mail it in...now here's how to go about it...

If the fine is 100$...mail in 105$...now the court must mail you a check for over payment.....DO NOT cash that check.....Here's why!!!

The court is only interested in reciving the fine amount, once all transactions are completed, it forwards it to the insurance company, and DMV....by not cashing the check, there is still an outstanding financial statement waiting to be cleared.....you gotta pay the fine...granted, but other than that....It's all good!!!

Heh heh heh heh

Ranger

Ranger, that only works if you know what the fine will be for the ticket. If you get a speeding ticket in NY (well, Long Island) that is 25 or more miles over the posted speed limit you have to go to court they usually do not have the fine amount written, the judge will tell you after the hearing.

LOL..how true... but Psyco can go to the prosecuter before hand and work out some time pf plea agreement..usually works out to a lower fine and no points...depending on your driving record

Dude,

LI = cop will be there. Both Suffolk and Nassau schedule thir dates so that one officer can be there to handle like 200 tickets.

Wow, that's even worse than I thought.
Hmmm.

i don't know if calgary is anything like regina in this sense but in regina the cops don't always show up for court. my bro has gotten off the entire ticket for that before... and he's a wacko driver.

btw did you know (i imagine you do) that in calgary they hide cameras in "broken-down" cars on the trails and stuff?

hmm... dont know the laws in your state but can't you take defensive driving to get rid of the ticket. If not, just hire a lawyer who deals with traffic offences. They can always get you off.

Try the speedo excuse that it was not working and get a shop to "fix" it.

I have had my share of speeding tickets, and I must say I got away with so much shit it was not funny, IT WAS GLORIOUS!!!

Triple the speed limit, double it in corners and so on. This was on my Ninga 600 bike, and I loved it. I never had too much problem with speed, just the pizza guy who rearended my bike and caused me to have my hip replaced. Fuck pizza drivers. If I ever get hit and injured again, the other person WILL GO TO THE HOSPITAL, if there not injured. I will however admit them to the hospital, and believe me I am not a Dr.

Some people deserve a good beating for injuring someone else.
