Best Protein Powder??

rgosit

New member
what proteins have u seen best results wile using?
and does ne one kno if the ratings in the prosource supplement buyers guide are accurate?
because all the cytodyne and prosource products get 5 starts..wich is the highest.. and no metrx, prolab twinlab, or EAS products recieve a perfect score?
im 17, whould u suggest ne other supplments beside multi vitimin creatine and protien powder to take??

thankyou

The best protein's are either whey or casein. The prosource supplement buyers guide is a piece of junk. I would not read that anymore if i were you,it can poison your mind. I am not trying to be harsh, but seriously its very biased. Their trend is usually the more expesive products and their stuff is the best. Company name is not the thing to look, indgrients is,dont let them brainwash you into thinking cheaper brands are undosed etc. On the topic of supplement reviews, the bill phillips review is also garbage,i would stay away from that. I belive it is best to obtain as much unbaised information as possible, and also talk to real people, like the people on this site and other sites and ask them their experiences with certain products, thats a better review than any of those bias prints. Again i dont mean to come off like an ass or anything,my tone may have been a little strong, but i just hate those books, because i use to be poisoned by them too.

First, I will say that I am biased in favor of my product Triple Threat 3/60. Here's why:

I believe it is important to consume different types of protein so that you can get the different amino acid profiles of each type. So I blended the three most powerful muscle-building proteins available today, Ion exchanged Whey Protein Isolate, Egg Albumin (White), and Milk Isolate. These three proteins have been combined in a specific ratio to create a complete balanced amino acid structure that will fuel your anabolic environment and aid in muscle growth.

Whey is a good protein, but by itself, you have to add glutamine, and I think it makes more sense just to vary your proteins and get the glutamine from a "food" source instead.

Additionally, taste IS important. If a product tastes poorly, you know you will not want to drink much of it, and will probably subconsciously not take as much as you should. So, I used real vanilla and cocoa powder in Vanilla Milk Shake and Chocolate Milk Shake flavors respectively -- nothing artificial.

The only "trick" ingredient I added was a Hoffman Laroche vitamin and mineral mix, so you have a high protein moderate card, low fat meal.

thats what i needed... i wanted to kno if it was bullshit.. i was wondering y all there products got the good ratings...
but what is a good protein to buy?? designer whey?
optimum 100% whey- ??

thank you

Actually, Mr. Spellwin (obviously) makes some very good points. Whey is terrific, but on its own is one of the poorer sources of glutamine. Casein is a slower absorbing protein, so perhaps post-workout it's not so great. A mix like the metrx products, or the triple threat, or any powder with more than straight whey is a good idea for most times of day. however, post-workout, I'd really recommend a pure whey protein.

Isopure no carb is great; pure whey isolate with extra glutamine.

so whats a good all whey protein?
r the optimum products good? i was using the 100% whey, but someware i was told that it sucks because its cheep.
and what is a good protien thats a mix of other protiens( product and brand)
should i buy glutamine by itself??
and what i s a good multivitimin? (product and brand)
THankyou

I checked out the price of the Triple Threat protein, and it looks like a very good deal, especially with the varied protein sources. Postworkout, I'd have to say stick with a whey only blend, but otherwise a combo protein such as Triple Threat or Metrx is your best bet for the rest of the day. Also check out the Protein Factory for their formulas. They have great prices, but I'll admit, the taste of their proteins isn't exactly the best. Alex (the owner) admits this part also, but he also states that he guarantees his ingredients to be pure and legit.

im going ot look into the triple threat..ware is a good place to buy.
and for post werkout i will look into the isopure, disignerwhey, and optimum 100% whey.

im still looking for a good multi vitimin

thank you for the replies
i already posted this... but i dont see it so im posting again

optimum 100% whey is great, the pro complex is over priced, you can make your own pro complex or triple threat at protein factory.com much cheaper. Designer is extremely overpriced. Post workout carbs can be bought from your local brewery(dextrose or maltodextrins),or at supplementdirect.com,they sell dextrose cheap, they charge too much from maltodextrins its label undder complex carbs. Protein factory charges too much for carbs.

i found 23 servings of isopure for 28$
is 50 grams of protein post workout tomuch??
i was told 50 grams post workout was to much.
is the protein factory the only place i can get this triple threat>??

still looking for a good multi vitimin
frown.gif
cheap)

thankyou

i have been looking at the protien factory site, would it b cheaper if i bought a post workout formula, breakfats formula, and a night time formula. then buying 2 diff kinds of protien powder? Is the protien factory credible?> has ne on had good results from it? i was also going to maybe try a multi vitimin from the protein factory.
If u have ne negative experiences let me kno...

thank you

Hey bros here some useful info.
"Whey protein isolate" Scientific Description: is the cleanest form of whey protein. Isolation of the whey, using cross-flow microfiltration is the next processing step after concentration. It has a higher protein per serving ratio than whey concentrate . Whey isolates yield over 90 grams of protein per 100 grams of whey. It is virtually fat and lactose free. Whey isolate yields a higher amount of BCAA, half of which come from the essential amino acids. Extremely digestible with a good taste. CROSS-FLOW MICROFILTRATION....THE PROCESS DESCRIBED IN LAYMAN'S TERMS Whey protein isolate can be manufactured using different methods. Cross-Flow Microfiltration is a natural high tech manufacturing process that uses ceramic filters to remove the fat, lactose, and other unwanted materials, hence isolating the protein. The protein is NOT subjected to chemicals, therefore protein is left unharmed and in its original state.
"Hydrolyzed Whey Protein " Scientific Description: The most digestible source of whey protein developed for human consumption. A hydrolyzed whey is partially digested to make them more accessible for human digestion. The protein molecules are split into smaller groups called peptides. The amino acids are called peptide bonded. Described as a highly purified protein enzymatically hydrolysated to form whey peptides. The benefits of whey protein isolate are combined with the hydrolysated whey peptides extremely solubility and nutrition benefits. Drinking the powder the peptides are actually by-passing the stomach and are being absorbed right through the small intestine and into the blood stream. Up to 80% of whey peptides can pass quickly through the stomach intact to be absorbed by the lower intestines. Small di-and tri-peptides are also absorbed faster than free-form amino acids. Regular whey protein has to be broken down into these peptides compared to hydrolyzed protein which is already in a partial digestive state. What does this mean for muscle growth? The faster amino acids are absorbed, the faster protein synthesis can take place and an positive nitrogen state develops creating an anabolic condition.

"Bovine Serum" the first new protein source to hit the market since whey protein , will help you absorb amino acids more efficiently and increases the body's nitrogen balance. This is turn will help users gain lean muscle mass. The main ingredient in Bovine Serum is immunoglobuling G. Here is a list of benefits proven with research with the use of Bovine Serum 1)Bioactive Hormones, growth factors and cytokines promote cell growth 2)Prevents activation of immune system thereby preventing protein and energy loss. 3)Promotes intestinal function 4)Enhances nutrient utilization 5)Increases retained nitrogen, promotes weight gain 6)Increased retained fat/energy. 7)Reduced protein and amino acid catabolism, improves protein retention 8)Increases fat-free body mass.

Hope that helps.

fuck i had password problems and i posted a reponse to this once eariler then lost it,just got back the gym ,and i wrote a response and lost it again, i couldnt press the back button

anyway i think thats horseshit written by the supplement companies who sell whey islote. Whey islote usually costs 4-5 dollars more per pound, and for what?? 2 grams less of carbs per serving and 1 gram less of fat. I think its a major ripoff,i really doubt you will see a difference in your physique by choosing whey islote over whey concentate.

"Is the protien factory credible?> has ne on had good results from it?" yes its the same protein that other companies (EAS,muscletech) use, they just package it and put attractive labels on it,and hype it up throught marketing, they also formulate it. You can make your own indegrients ,formulate your own shit and protein factory.com. Also i doubt u will see a difference from swithing brands of protein, protein isnt really a "boom" supplement like creatine ,its just to incorporate in your diet and help improve your diet. I know some people claim after switching brands they see a difference,i dont know what the reason is for this, maybe its other variables and they forgot to mention. Its probably the same people who swear hmb and those type of supplements. i want to say zma too but people are starting to say they breakout on that shit, and im loosing a grip of my belief that its a rip off? i dont understand how it can do something its zinc and mag ,i already get a ton of that. anyway

protein factory doesnt sell triple threat, they sell the same main indegrients thats in tripe threat ,and its cheaper to buy the indrgients through them. YOu can get triple threat from mass quatities if u click the thing that says supplements on the top of the screen it will take u their.
I buy the kirkland brand muiltivitamin/mineral from costco, its great and at a good price, 6-7 dollars for 500 1 a day tabs . The only downfall of protein factory is many people say it tastes like worse than commerical brands, this is just what ive heard,i dont know how bad it really is. you can do what u said, but it would be cheaper to buy your carbs from supplementdirect.com or from the local brewery and mix it yourself.
oh yea if you dont have costco in your area, then the cheapest muiltvitamin/mineral is cool, i would look at the indregients before the brand name, just cuz it says centrum on it does not mean it is superior, and also theirs nothing wrong with buying whey islote ,the protein in whey islote is the same as in whey concentrate(im pretty sure, look at bottom),whey islote is just a higher protein percent, and they charge alot more for it.

"Whey isolate yields a higher amount of BCAA, half of which come from the essential amino acids"

ok thats what the article says,if this is true can someone explain how this is,i think that its a trick and since whey islote has a higher protein percent,it automatically has higher bcaa, but gram for gram of actual protein, does it?

anyway even if it does,i know many people who look have no mass that use whey islote,i dont think the protein u use is direct relation to your physique critque

finally this is just my opinoin, please correct whatever that is off,and show evidence

I went to GNC today and checked out the MetRx protein plus.
it looks like a pretty good product its got a few diff kindas of protein. and i also looked at the isopure no carb. but is 50 grmas of protein to much for post workout??

what do u think baout the METRX- isopure protein combo??/

how are the supplement direct products... they seem to have cheep prices...

rite now i think im most intrested in buying the Metrx protein plus
and the isopure no carb for post workout.
im still trying to find out if i will need extra glutamine

supplement direct has ok prices, other than dextrose their are cheaper places, like kilosports.com and proteinfactory.com

why do u want to buy isopure for postworkout?

isopure wouldent b good for post workout?>?
i think someone above suggested it for post work out.. isnt isopure all whey?
whats would ba batter choice for post workout???

thankYou

the protein factory has breakfast, postworkout, and night time formulas. Would it b a good desision for me to pick up a pound each.. i think a pound each will cost me like under 25$
would it b better to buy everything from the factory, or say pick up 2 diff protein powders at another online store????

any whey protein(including isopure) is good for post workout to take along with carbs ]

If you buy everything from protein factory you will already be saving alot, whichever decesion you make,it is probably to best to buy all your protein from proteinfactory versus other sites like kilo sports or supplement direct. I just mentioned supplementdirect because they sell dextrose cheaper than protein factory

well post workout i have creatine for my carbs..(cell tech) then i wiat 1\2 hour and have my protein.
well i think i will try the protien factory, maybe get a pound of breakfast, postworkout, and nighttime, or customize my own. wich should last me like maybe a month?? not sure how long a pound will go for... then i will switch to isopure or any other 100%whey for post workout, and maybe the metRx protien
for ther times of the day. im figureing if they warn u at the protein factory about the taste...it must b pretty bad.. but that will porbably also be a factor.

on the calculations page it tells how many grams of protein u get per pound, the calculation page on the lower right side of the screen, whey protein concentrate it says 359 grams per pound. Out of all the cheap protein out their ive heard EAS simply whey tastes the best

is [pro blend by human development tech a good product.. i foiund a deal..or what i think is a deal 2 pounds for 19.99$?
think i mite buy it..
is there ne other protein thats a mixture of diffrent proteins that is cheep,.. the metrx protein plus is kinda expensive also...

thanx

ware can i find the triple threat???
ive been lookin at many websites and havent seen it .. whare can i find it

thanx.. i just realised the triple threat was at this site/.. imma dumb ass

since the triple threat cost 58 something for 6 pounds, i think im just gonna get 5 pounds of optimum whey protein 10LB for 50$
isopure is kinda expensive, do u think it is worth it??
do i still need to buy extra glutamine???

thankyou

has ne one used optimum glutamine..
it looks pretty cheap600 grams for 33.10$
is glutamine in caps as good as powder?/

Thats probably the best bet, because with protein your not gonna really notice anything wheter it be one brand or another,or another mixture, its just a supplement to help your diet, its not like creatine where some people experience a quick weight gain.

Isopure is not worth it,your not gonna notice any difference, its just protein. Optimum is great,so is proteinfactory, other 5lb tubs are also good,if taste is a major concern , Ive heard EAS simply whey tastes the best out of all the 5lb tubs and protein factory, I felt optimums chocolate tasted good at first, then after awhile i got tired of it,most people feel that vanilla and strawberry flavors from optimum taste horrible,u can call them and get free samples if your skeptical about the taste.

Optimum glutamine is probably no worse or better than any other brand. www.kilosports.com sells cheap glutamine ,39.99 for 1000 grams.
