Best Post Wkout Carbs when dieting?

Eventhough he is dieting, IMHO his muscle glycogen still needs to be replenished after a workout. I would go with 50 grams of dextrose.

he can't go over his daily carb limit-if he has no carbs other than the dextrose, it may be ok-otherwise, the dextrose would be a bad idea
 
Hey what do ya'll think of the Carbo force drinks by ABB for Post workout carbs? The whole bottle has a 110carbs, they're a mix of simple and complex carbs. I usually drink 3/4 of it. Would that be ok when dieting?

Diamond, then what would bebest Post workout carbs that come from real foor. I spend enough money on protein and other shit I'm not going to order Dextrose carbs now. So what real food is best for Post workout when your dieting?
 
Purpose of Dextrose is to replenish muscle glycogen stores as fast as possible. Why you would want to prolong that, makes no sense at all to me. If you could replenish your muscles in 20min. versus 4 hours, why would you want to wait 4 hours? After a workout you are most catabolic, your post workout shake is there to help you return to anabolism a.s.a.p. and even help you grow.

You start adding solid foods in there and you're missing an ideal time to grow and recover.

You will spend more money on brown rice and oatmeal than you would have on dextrose, which dextrose is extremely cheap. And not only that, like i mentioned before you do not take advantage of an ideal time to grow.
 
Dextrose is needed. Cutting or not! I take Dextrose even when getting contest ready. You need to replenish your glycogen. If you don't, the body will use protein to replenish its glycogen. This robs your muscles of the needed protein to build (or maintain while cutting).

Start w/ 50g of dextrose after w/o for a month. Adjust the amount for your body. But dextrose is needed.

Remember the meal(s) after a workout are the most important. You can adjust the carb/pro/fat ratios for all other meals as well as total caloric intake. This will help you get cut and retain muscle.

And he will spend MUCH more on those carbo force drinks then either one. Risky and others are right stick to dextrose, you can get 10lbs for $11 @ suplimentdirect.com

if your sticking to your plan and not eating carbs at all during other meals. Having dextrose post workout will do nothing but benefit your muscles. but you dont have to go overboard and take 50 - 100 grams. you can take 30 instead.
 
what does dextrose taste like on its own?, stupid question i know but i might make more sense on choosing a whey flavor to go with 50g of dextrose.
 
Dextrose has very little taste, has a very slight taste of sugar. I sometimes drink it alone w/ creatine post workout, then when I get home slam down the whey. It's the best combo post workout IMO.
 
It tastes good to mix dextrose with cocoa and instant coffee granules. Dextrose is the sugar they use in Sweet Tarts, right? Where can I buy this candy? I want to eat this with my maltodextrin/dextrose/whey shake after a workout so chumps think I'm a natural.

I had to buy a premade protein drink called PROTEIN REVIVAL..has anyone heard of it?
p=25, c=45,f=1.5
It contained, whey concentrate, maltodextrin, dextrose and fructose! i know the frutose isnt good at all...but would something like this hinder my cutting process?
An hour later I had another whey shake low carbs.
I feel kinda shit now... did I mess it up??:bawling:
 
Dextrose tastes like suger because it IS suger. However, its not exactly the same as table suger which is sucrose. Its less sweet, but if you mix it with whey its almost like a real chocolate shake. Its better then sucrose because it replenishes glycogen faster.

Before you go and order it online, try going down to your local health food store, I bet they will have it cheaper, probably 80 cents/lb.

I totally agree w/ Risky. I add Crystal Lite to my dextrose/creatine mix for flavor. It taste like lemonade. :D

:alien: Sweet tarts? Same as sweet tarts? How is this? Is it the same as with other candy? I love sweet tarts :D .... What a dream, workout and have a box of candies :D.

Wouldn't be the same as Skittles too, no :D?
