Best place to get a credit card

try your bank institution. better if you are with a credit union. usually bank sponsored credit cards have lower interest rates. or you could check out your insurance carriers(life, auto, health, dental), and see what they offer. but if you go with someone outside these channels, more than likely you will get hit up with a high ass interest rate (23.99%).

Go to www.google.com and do a search for 0% apr credit cards. I found one that I'm going to be applying for once my DiscoverCard 0% rate intro period expires. Best part about applying through the web is the fact that you often know instantly if you are approved or not.

I just got approved for a 500 limit credit card [I'm 18] through the Franklin Mint Credit Union. The interest rates are pretty good, but I have no intentions of having a balance at the end of the month.

This is the way to do it. I got my first credit card in early 2000 after I got my first job in late 1999. I have never carried a balance from month to month until January 2002 when I started taking advantage of 0% APR on purchases and balance transfers on my DiscoverCard. I've had a few thousand dollars sitting on it for months now and had that actual money sitting in the bank earning me interest. Never give up your money if you don't have to. =)

Hehe... not as good as hunting down a card that gives 0% APR on cash advances, writing a check for almost my maximum credit limit, and dumping that in the bank too... muahhahaa. =)

Haha. So when it comes time to pay it back you just take the cash out of bank, and keep the interest? I love it.
