I read somewhere recently that if you just have to have a pizza the best thing to order is a thin-crust green pepper pizza with half the cheese and double the sauce. The rationale is that of all the toppings, green peppers pack the most nutritional punch, and the tomato sauce is loaded with lycopene, which has antioxidant properties. Obviously half the cheese saves a buttload of calories and fat, and the thin crust assures that you are eating the least amount of refined flour possible.
Certainly this is not cutting food, but if you are trying to eat healthfully and get a craving for pizza, this is probably the best choice.
And forget about pepperoni. Each slice has 30 calories on average, with each slice of pizza having about 4 slices of pepperoni on it.
