Best Car Insurance

Right now I have State Farm, but I am going to change that really soon. They fucking jacked up my insurance $700 from $1700 to $2400 because of a speeding ticket. Also, I don't even have collision just liability. I am leaning towards Geico. Any suggestions on what insurance I should get.

Also, can I break my contract with State Farm and switch over to Geico in the middle of payments or do I have to wait until the end of the insurance term.

Finally, I have an insurance agent and I am not sure if part of my owed insurance includes any fee that may be for him. I gather so since he works off of commission. Should I just get rid of the bum?

Check out Gieco and Progressive, you'll do better.

The best insurance is driving safely with no insurance... heheh.

Seriously - in the past 3 or 4 years that I've been driving, Allstate has gotten a shitload of insurance money because I have full coverage and I'm a male under 25. On Christmas Eve some fucker backed into my car and took off, so I'm stuck with the $500 deductible. The repair work totals $900. I would have been better off not paying any insurance and paying the $900 out of pocket. Unfortunately, driving without insurance is illegal.

GEICO Cheap but quicker to dump you for 1 claim. May dispute more claims to keep the rates lower

State Farm/AllState About the same... Fair rates depending on your record and great service from a local rep .
I have a SF multi car policy dating from the 70's and they have told
me I would practically need to kill someone with my vehicle before
corp would allow then to cancel the policy.

If you get a new vehicle and get a rate you don't like from your current carrier, tell them you are gonna go shopping and they will almost always lower it unless you are buying a vette or something.

I used to have Progressive for a couple years. To make a long story short, I have one non-fault, if that is the correct term, on my record. However, there were no witnesses and it was up to my insurance to fix the damage on my car - about $1700, and the other driver's insurance fixed his. This happened in November of 2000. Anyway, I let my insurance policy expire with Progressive in September and whenever I realized it I called my agent to tell him to renew my policy. In another couple of weeks I called him back asking where my bill was and he had forgot to do whatever was necessary so because my policy had been expired for over 30 days, he had to treat me like a new customer that had been driving without insurance for 30 days. Anyway, he tried to raise my insurance from $660 every 6 months, full coverage for a 2002 Nissan SE, to $1200 every 6 months. His explanation was also that insurancde cost were rising across the board He also said they would count the accident on my record against me.

Anyway, I called Geico and they gave me full coverage for $900/6months . So, I went with them.

Call Geico, they seem to be very competitive.

Also, tell them you are a member of Delta Sigma Pi national business fraternity, they have some type of benefit for that group. Might save you a couple dollars, probably not much but what the hell. They don't check either.
