Best Car Alarm?

Gastroc O'Jenkins

New member
I had my car broken into on monday.. lost my amps and my dvd deck :(

I'm looking for a better alarm, probably one of the ones with the pager notification but I really dont know shit about them.

Any suggestions on a brand or model? Or maybe other ideas? I'd like to to whatever I can so this shit doesnt happen again.. thanks

rules:

1) hide that stuff so it can't be seen. When thugs walk by - they're not gonna risk breaking into a car where they don't know what's in i.

2) Have a visible light flashing or something that insinuates there's an alarm that'll make a sound. Won't stop 50% of thieves, but 50% is still 50%.

3) stop parking on streets or easily accessible and dark parking lots. (that is if you have that option).

4) any car can be broken into or stolen. no car alarm can guarnatee anything.

everything was hidden other than the deck itself (the screen was closed and thats the best you can do)

i have the factory alarm (they just cut the siren), had all the warning lights etc

they pried against my windowframe with a screwdriver to spider the glass then just knocked it in.. basicly they did everything right and knew what they wanted. they left a lot of shit in there worth taking

i just feel like if i'd had some pager letting me know my doors were opened i could have done something. only problem is no one seems to know what the best one is (longest alert distance).. i guess theyre fairly new.. hopefully ill pick up the right one and never have to find out how well it works

Viper makes a good one with the pager. Just be careful where you buy it. A lot of stereo shops try to make a killing on unsuspecting consumers. Check eBay.
