Best Bars?

Toss up between Tri-O-Plex Chocolate PD or Muscle Sandwiches :p

Just FYI QT, I saw a test on Chef Jay's bars, and they were far from meeting label claims. Don't know if they got things ironed out or not, just a heads up.

The best bars that i have tried are the Interactive's Protein 2 Go bars the Double Chocolate and Peanut Butter are amazing. Also they are low in sodium compared to the other bars on the market.

Just my 2 Cents

Yup that was some time ago now but since the lables have changed and reflect the correct amount. I haven't had any tri-o-plex since the arnold I limit protien bars for emergency use only.

They're not the best bars from a nutrition standpoint, but I absolutely love the Peanut Crunch CLIF Bars. 250 calories, they have about 40g of Carbs (5g from Fiber) and 12g of Protein. I could eat them all day. They come in handy when I'm stuck on campus longer than I expect to be.

It has also has Whey Protein Concentrate and Milk Protein Isolate in it also. So even though Soy in your mind is crap, it isnt the main source of protein in the bar.

I have mentioned this in another thread but ... you should consider all bars, whether they be protein, meal replacement, low-carb, etc., to be very high in sugar and saturated fats. The protein content will be low quality and even if it is advertised as having high quality whey isolate, the benefits will be offset by the high fat and extremely high sugar content.

Interactive Nutrition Protein 2 Go Bars
1 bar (72g) (~2US$ per serving)

Calories 270
Fat 6g
Saturated Fat 3.5 g
Cholesterol 15mg
Sodium 105 mg
Cabs 33g
Fibre 3g
Sugar 19g
Protein 22g

You would be better off spending your money on a quality protein supplement. You will also save yourself some money in the process.

In comparison to a meal-replacement powder supplement:

NB Isopure low-carb (packets) 1.71 (US$) per serving

Calories 220
Fat 0g
Saturated Fat 0g
Cholesterol 0mg
Sodium 450mg
Potassium 900mg
Carbohydrates 10g
Fiber 0g
Sugars 0g
Protein 42g
