I got used to scoring the neck of the amp with a thin grinding stone. Breaks easier and neater.

I always use the ole nail file trick, though with all the $ I've been spending on gear and supps guess I can afford to spring $8 for an amp opener

Take a towel and wrap up the amp.

Hold the bottom of the amp and break the top off with your other hand. The entire amp should be under the towel, you should get a clean break right where the amp is scored.

I'll try that one. I usually just snap the top off, once I ended up crushing the thing, but the amp was still good. I love Jefta's amps, since they have a score on the neck, makes it easy to snap it off.

I broke mine fine, didnt score or nothing. If it doesnt break, twist it then try breaking again. It will have a weak spot. Keep turning that shit.

u can get a small copper pipe cutter and use it, i mean a real small one, that will fit around the amp.....but why spend more money when u can get a amp opener for 8-10 $

What I do is this:

I went to the hardware shop and bought a regular file like the ones that anyone working with metal would use. I then score the amps at 12 O'Clock and 6 O'Clock (Looking at the amps, not the actual time I do it - LOL!!!!) I then put the Amp inside a towel and it easily snaps off.

This is the best ever advice! You will lose more vials than you can imagine without this simple little tool.

I just use a needle file,available from hardware stores. Score and break. They are cheap aswell.

i sometimes get my lady friend to hold the neck of the amp inbetween her teeth and then i hit her on the top of her head with my fist!! you'd be surprised how clean the amp breaks.

I just hold it and snap the top off. I've never broken a single amp. You just have to give it a hard fast snap.

i use a metal file and score it good all the way around....then put a pen cap over and just snap that shit....most the time its a pretty clean break....never broke one yet....knock on wood

I'll try an amp opener, but I tell ya, those amps from ICN don't have shit for a bevel in the neck of em! I feel a little more relaxed when I give the neck of them a pretty good score from a file or grinding stone.
