There's a lot of crap on The Wall. I paid $13 for it as a double album when it came out and I felt ripped off. The cool thing for me about Appetite was that it was out for a year before it really took off. I bought it right when it came out, and I was telling everyone about it. Everyone who bought it thought it was awesome. All my friends were thrashers and they thought that GNR was just another hair band until they heard it. There was something magic about this new band. Pink Floyd was already established. It's just not a good comparison, y'know.
I voted Nirvana, but really it all depended on what I was killing myself with at the time during the 80's and 90's. Music to complement drug abuse and self destruction= Nirvana, Music to complement alcohol, one night stands and blackouts= G'N'R.
