Bent over barbell rows...

Looking for some input on the best way to perform these for overall development, and saftey...

In my past runs of a 5x5 i used an overhand grip and dropped the weight all the way to a resting position on the floor after each rep...

I've seen these done with an underhand grip as well, and also where the lifter will not allow the weight to return to the floor, just keeping the back straight at all times...

So what's your take on the barbell row...?

back horizontal, knees slightly bent. use a bench or block to stand on and lower the weight as low as your arms allow. pull the weight up to your lower abdomen instead of chest to avoid more arm involvement. dont round your back. under hand grip or shoulder width grip will allow more lat involvement.

hope that helps bro, happy lifting!
