Being Strong...

Don't hold it against them that they are celebrating in the streets. Yes it is sickening, but it's their freedom of speech. If we hold that right against them, than we might as well give up our freedom of speech too. If we hold it against them, than everything we've told China about how bad it is for them to not let their people speak their minds, will be hypocritical. We were one of the first nations to see speech as a right, not a privilege. They were only expressing their right. ALSO, don't forget that they live in a totalitarian nation. They are only allowed to see and hear certain things on TV. They also are supposed to act in certain ways or they may be killed. They are prisoners in their own nation. We only saw a fraction of their country's responses. We shouldn't evaluate their whole nation on a few idiots dancing in the streets. We also shouldn't evaluate their country on what a few terrorists did. We should be mad at the terrorists, not the people that just happen to be living in the same area.

I totally agree... again... I don't even hold it against the kids who were there... as they don't truly know better.

The part I'm against, is the celebration of the loss of innocent life. Their leader said he was against the attacks, and they even had their police come out to break up the celebrations.

I just can't believe anyone would be happy that thousands of innocent people were destroyed.

the parents as the children are brainwashed from birth to hate and belive that we the "american capitolist" are the devil! Yes I am upset but as I listed in my ealier post we must unite against the forces of evil...we do not need or will we accomplish anything exept more innocent deaths if we just attack without prejudice! We are better than that...we talk about the ability to reason, we should try it ourselves!

Right on, Columbo. You're absolutely right. If we simply attack for revenge, and to destroy, we become what they are.

America is so much better than that. I truly love this country. We can't bring ourselves to their level. To do so would destroy everything that we are.

STUPID FUCK...You make me sick. How many American's do you think would be celebrating the loss of innocent life, whether it be in the middle east, china, Japan, Phillapeans, etc? NONE Why? Because we are a civilized nation (for the most part) and we care about human life and hostile killing. Someone should slap the shit out of you. Would you be thinking differently about people singing and dancing if you brother or father had parished in the attack? You want freedom of speech? Here ya go..Fuck off, you non-american, self riteous, piece of fucking shit.

IronFist, I understand the anger. I feel it too.

But Intramuscular is right. We can be sickened and hate what we see and hear, but speech we agree with doesn't need to be protected. It's the speech that we disagree with that must be protected. If we don't, we've lost the right.

He's also right about the idiots on TV, they aren't necessarily representative of everybody in those countries. There are good, honest and caring people in every part of the world.

To get back to the point...Target those responsible, but lets not go hurting innocents. Especially those in our own country.

Ironfist... I think you may not see everything he's trying to say. I do think there would be SOME people in America celebrating the complete destruction of their country as well. And would say "fuck it" to the loss of their civilians, because many people have a "you fuck with us, we fuck you harder" mentality, just because we're the big bad U.S.
Yes, we are more civilized... but not all of us think things through.

Those people celebrating the attack were shitholes... true. But that's not their entire country.

I think you came off a bit too closeminded to what he said.

Just my opinion.

Also, as Zen said, I do understand your anger.

I feel it too. It's very hard to contain. I also want vengeance. But only to a certain extent.

The difference between us and them is how we think, and what we do with the anger.

I know my point is a bit to the extreme, but I'm sorry I'm very, very upset by this situation. I've been in 3 conflicts.
Panama, Desert Storm, and Somalia.
I've seen many people dead, die, and killed. Many were the enemy shooting at us, some were the soldier's(and friends of mine) and some were the civilians. The worst part were the civilians.
While in Somalia, the were many civilian's killed, many more than what the media has reported. It was kill them or I wouldn't be here right now.
What do you do when you are being shot at by a gunman but he's hiding behind women and children?
What do you do when that gunmen shoots one of your soldier's and friend dead?
You have no other choice, but to shoot back.
Or you will die.
I have to live with the consequences of that day.
When you have to kill innocent ( I don't know how innocent they were because they were laughing at us because they thought we wouldn't shoot them because the were civilians) people in order to survive.
I don't think many people here have ever had to be in such a situation. It was the worst day of my life. I still have nightmares about it.
So if some civilians get hurt or killed in the efforts to eradicate this evil from our planet, then so be it.
