Being sober in bars rant

this is probably a waste of your time reading this but hell if you want to reply go for it,I just need a vent.

tonight I goto work,its dead so I get sent home,which I was happy about because my friends were partying in town for a buddies birthday.

so I come home change and head to the bar,I show up everyone is ruined.one buddy needs help finding coke,I dont do it but know where to get it because I use to be a shady fucker and can get whatever I need.anyway I go find someone and my buddy comes with me acting all fucking weird because he is drunk,starts rambiling and the dealer starts getting all fucking paranoid,pulls out a fucking knife and gets all worked up,thankfully I got shit calmed down,nobody got hurt and nobody else saw it happen. we get my buddies shit and fuck off and go back with our friends.

so we dance we are all having fun,then all of a sudden these bouncers decide someone needs to go home,and instead of walking them out they go right to fists and end up tossing a guy into the girl who is drunk and tiny with us and buddy trys to swing on this girl,I get inbetween get hit in the back of the head,then tough guy bouncer starts being a fucker to me,and I told him right out,you threw him into her im just protecting her so fuck off. they go about their bullshit we get dancing again.

so as time goes on more bullshit,guys start trying to take advantage of drunk girl,shes a good friend of mine and not like that so I get them away,but one guy didnt like it went go his buddies then they stand 10 ft away being tough shit so whatever time to fucking go so I leave her with someone I thought I could trust while I go round up the rest of them. I come back and this asshoe is sober shes wasted and he has his tongue down her throat. I freak on him,we leave,now im home all pissy and wondering why I fucking went to a bar because this shit always happens.

and no fucking cliff notes either take time to read it or dont I dont care

bro I have learned,but if I want to see my friends I have to do shit like this as most of them have not grown out of the bar scene,but when this shti happens at bars im the first the run to because they know ill never them hanging in a spot,and they always bitch bullshit happens,but never learn to not go back. dont get me wrong I dont mind going out occasionally,but the bar they go to here in town is the same all the time,we never get this bullshit when we go to other towns

approval is the last thing on my mind bro,with my group of friends and how diverse our interests are we dont seek each others approval,we get along because we are all relaxed and good guys,I just got out of the partying stage faster because Ive worked in bars since I was 18 and saw all the shit and tired of it.

its not that they are bad people at all I just have different interests now and rarely see them due to this conflict

You have matured, they haven't. As we get older, the pieces to the puzzle change shape and stop fitting. You don't need to ditch your friends, but I think you should try looking for new friends that you can better relate to.

relax oak. thats the bar scene for you - people acting like heroes when they get drunk, girls getting wasted and getting with guys theyd never look at sober, your friends being inconsiderate pricks, getting wasted and into bad situations, then looking on you to bail them out. thats what it is. thats what itll always be.

your problem is that you let yourself get into a position where people took advantage of you, aka White Knight Syndrome. the thing about drunk people is that if you give tehm a little slack, theyll use it all, and ruin your night. next time youre all sober, tell your friends that they acted stupid, and that youre not going to look after a bunhc of coke chasing drunks, or wasted chicks making themselves vulnerable to predatory dickheads - and so hopefully, they wont feel the security blanket that is TheOak and so wont get stupidly drunk.

i used to do the same thing. girl wasted? call golden. brawl about to erupt? call golden. ran out of money? call golden. need a wingman to help you talk to a girl? call golden. result: everyone has a brilliant night.....except bloody golden.

now, i tell people straight: if you want to get wasted and start fights, im going to watch you get bashed, so that you learn. ill stop the guy from stomping on your head, but only after the first stomp. to drunk drivers: if you get in the car drunk, IM going to call the police on you - so dip into your alcohol fund and yank out some taxi money. and to the girls about to get preyed on by sexual predators....eeeeeeeeh im a softy. i still bail them out, but only because i hate guys taking advantage of drunk girls. but if you puke on me, youre paying for my dry cleaning and doing my dishes. mofos.
