A year ago a bro I know had a controlled delievery for a pretty large pack. It had about $3500 of actual cost of gear in Mexico. He has still not been arested! He did not tell me much other then that he gave them leads to other people, who I do not even know. Now before anyone jumps down my throat for him talking, I do not agree! I have no association to it. I am just curious because he has still not been arested after he was nabed. What could be the hold up here?

Bump for more replies, although sparhoda makes a hell of a good point.

HUH?! What's so damn good about it? The guy said in plain English that his friend WAS WORKING with the cops. Depending on the agency involved, and what he got caught with as compred to what he gave them, he might never get charged at all. They can do that. Either that, or they are waiting until they get done with their investigations involving the individuals he gave up, before they charge him. Either way, he will get off light. REAL light. It's the reason people do cooperate. The only way you can get a mandotory minimum reduced IS to cooperate. You can bash the guy all you want, but until you've been busted, you have no idea wether or not you would cooperate yourself. I did a Thread on this exact subject awhile back, and got flamed to high heaven, of course. Point was though, is that the pressure to cooperate is very strong. And desipte wether you think you're the baddest guy on the planet, the percentage of people who HAVE info to give who give it, is 98%. So alot of toughguys are obviously talkin alot of shit. The person who gave me that percentage is a State Narco Officer. He told me the guys they hear have the biggest toughguy reps, are usually the first to roll. He also told me that 99% of the cases he has made has been through guys rolling.

And btw, the 2% who didnt cooperate, were the ones who weren't given the option. In other words, high-end guys, with nothing to give.

He is not still taking to them currently and now has a lawyer. He has had not conversations with them in almost a YEAR! He told me the people who he gave leads to and I have no clue who they are, but they have heat on them. I woudl they think he would still get charged, but i dont know. How long do they have to charge him? I don't like talking to him about it at all, I am sure he could tell me through what his lawyer says but I don't want to associate with the guy he just talks when he see's me. I just wonder why he has not been arrested and it's been a year?

If they had alot of shit on him, the statutes are probably 5 years.

Although there are a substantial number of guys who will cooperate when given the opportunity, to say that the number is 98% is absolutely untrue. EVIDENCE...Rick Collins has a very successful law practice and has helped many, many bros with the legal repercussions of their actions by not being manipulated by the B.S. threats of skilled government interrogators.
