I just wanted to say to everyone on this board..be careful, especially on NYeve, K? Yesterday I got paged out to go to a call of a 10-50 (wreck) and again, it reminded me of how precious life really is.....it can all be over in a blink of an eye!!!!! My husband left to go to work about 10 minutes before the accident, on the same stretch of highway, and that would have put him at the scene of the accident. As a fire fighter (and definitely a first responder, paramedic, police, or any other emergency team for that matter) u are suppose to be calm and in control in an emergency situation.....I was freakin out (in a controlled way...I think) and SCARED to death it was my husband!!! I flew to the station, got my bunkers on, jumped in the truck and prayed to God it wasn't him. I seen my husband's life, the man that I love with all my heart, and our future flash before my eyes. It wasn't him thank god...(talk about nerves going into overdrive)
The man that was involved in the wreck was very lucky....as far as I know he is still alive.....I hadn't actually heard only that but he was transferred to a trauma hospital....he possibly had head trauma and I don't know what else. I've seen the worst possible wreck turn out to be okay....and I've seen the littliest one turn out to be fatal.......
I haven't been on very many 10-50s (thank god for that), but I can tell you that it bothers me everytime.
EVERYBODY.....live life like it's your last day....don't take things for granted.....and if your loved one leaves while your fighting, be strong enough to stop them and hug them, kiss them, hold them, and tell them you love them more than life itself.....you will never forgive yourself if something happened. I know I wouldn't...I'm just glad we were joking and hugging and kissing before he left...and we told each other we loved each other (that's one of the first things I thought of, that we weren't fighting).
BE CAREFUL!!!
LUV U GUYS!!!!
PEACE AND GOD BLESS!!!!!
