Barbell Complex Question

In my continuing quest to find some cardio that I will stick to, I ran across doing HIIT with a barbell complex and it really piqued my interest.

My regular weight training program is three days a week and more or less based off a normal 5 x 5. Squats everyday, then a push and a pull compound lift everyday. At this point I have mixed things up with 3 x 5 straight sets, 3 x 3s, and several other changes here and there with an eye to increase my total work load every week whether I accomplish it through volume or intensity.

I'd like to work in some HIIT as I am a pretty big boy and could benefit from a drop in BF, and a complex sounds pretty damn interesting because I can practice my form doing movements I enjoy rather than marching away like a rodent in a wheel on cardio equipment, but I don't want to overtrain and blow up my lifting routine. Any experiences or advice?

Maybe after you do your psuedo 5x5 routine for a few months get to where you feel like you want to be for cutting and then start to cut....or if your ready now maybe stop the heavy lifting and start lifting light with more reps, and add in more cardio.

Adjust your diet accordingly and maybe throw in a fat burner to trim up.....

I would suggest a complex cardio but with Kettlebells instead! I tried those a couple weeks ago after my max effort upperbody workout and felt nauseous for about two hours. I really hate cardio!!!

i wont run at all. i swim, cycle, and do sprints. but my two favorite cardio options are hitting the speed bag/heavy bag, or jumping rope.

I miss guys like Franco. The roid discussion aside, it was cool to see bodybuilders that lifted so old school...

...of course, being that it was the 70s, I guess old school was still just school, haha.
