The whole impetus of this banning of ephedra is the amount of money these drug companies have paid to the FDA and watching people successfully lose weight with an OTC supplement. Making their product obsolete.

Exactfuckingly! Then the FDA will ok it for prescription use and then the drug companies can clean up.

400,000 die from obesity and then they ban a suppliment that can help. America can be a "fuck or be fucked" society at times.

smoking = 435,000 deaths annually - leading cause

Ok, so where is the public outrage for these things? Why isn't nicotine on Schedule III? Why aren't our congressmen and special interest groups going after THESE issues? It seems they should have been TOP priority at the State of the Union speech instead of steroids in sports... just things that make ya go hmmmmm

I'd like to see those numbers myself. I figure they really don't know. If they had substancial numbers they'd certainly be parading them all over the place.
