True on both counts but as long as they continue to create fads they will continue to make money.

I have a C-note that says iPhone sales are up in 2009, despite being more costly than Windows Mobile/Blackberry equivalents.

Because people who buy them buy them cuz 1) they're cool and they want to be cool 2) itunes 3) their friends have them and provide answers and support. Never under-estimate the desire of people to be cool. Look at affliction shirts and uggs!
