Baking

I've heard some guys talk about baking their gear. Is this necessary or precautionary. Do most guys bake their gear?

If so, How is it done? Do you just bake the entire vial or do you have to transfer the fluid so as not to dry out the plastic on the cap?

it is not necessary. if you are concerned about sterility, run it thru a filter. no need to bake your gear, most of the time it doesnt do anything anyway it is a waste of time.

I thought it was a possibility that my gear was not sterile so I baked it. It was a lot easier then i thought. Just stick the whole vial in the oven and put a needle through the stopper..make sure the needle doesnt touch the gear though. I baked it at 250 degrees for 30 minutes and then I repeated it. You dont have to bake it if your not having any problems with it.

I have seen this over and over....and once again I will say, running gear through a filter will NOT sterilize it!!!...It only strains it...It gets particles out of it... that is why it is xalled something like a 4 micron filter. It is also called a sterile filter because the filter itself has been sterilized....It will NOT sterilize the oil. Heat is the only way to sterilize the oil!!!!

Don't take my word for it, look it up!

It is my belief that "baking" steroids can denature the molecules of steroid, rendering them into something that will not work like a steroid. My understandinf is that most steroids would not tolerate high heat well. Can anyone confirm or reject this? Has anyone here baked steroids, injected them and found no loss of potency?

I have asked a few people and they say it still works. I talked with one guy that bakes all his gear before he uses it. From the information I gathered it seems like it would take very hot temperatures for a longer period of time to hurt the potency.

wrong !!
get a 0.2micron sterile filter. the microbes and bacteria are larger than this i believe they are like 0.25 or some shit. the gear will be sterile.
if you were to bake it to sterilize it, you would have to use much higher heat, and for a much longer time to do the trick, all you are doing is heating up your gear... good luck
